About the archive
What this is
VFRDiscussion.com was the Honda VFR owners' forum. It ran from 2002 until 2026, when its database was lost and the site went offline. Twenty-odd years of maintenance write-ups, troubleshooting, modifications and ride reports went with it.
This site is a read-only reconstruction of what could be recovered. It is not a forum: nothing can be posted, replied to, or edited. It exists so that a search for a regulator/rectifier symptom or a valve-check procedure still lands on the answer someone wrote years ago.
How it was rebuilt
Every page here was reassembled from public web-crawl captures: the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, and Common Crawl. Each capture is stamped with the date it was taken. For every thread we took the most complete set of captures available, parsed the posts out of them, and kept the author name, the timestamp and the text as posted.
- 14,987 threads with at least one recovered post, across 39 forums.
- 239,046 posts by 8,805 distinct member names.
- The most recent capture used is dated 15 May 2026.
Post text was cleaned only as far as needed to display it safely: scripts, tracking pixels and forum chrome were removed, and quotes, links, lists and images were kept. Images that were captured are served from this site; images that were not are marked in the text. Where the original forum showed a date like "Today" the date is left as unknown rather than guessed.
What is missing
Crawlers do not capture everything. Some threads are missing pages; some posts are missing their date; private messages, member profiles, attachments and most gallery images were never public and are not here. Each thread's provenance plate shows how many posts were recovered and which capture they came from. Nothing has been filled in or reconstructed from memory.
Attribution and takedown
Every post remains the work of the person who wrote it, and is shown under their forum username with its original date. This archive is independent and non-commercial: no advertising, no accounts, no tracking.
If you wrote something here and want it removed, or a post contains personal information that should not be public, open an issue on the archive's GitHub repository (vfrdiscussion-archive/vfrdiscussion-archive) with the thread URL and the post number. No account with us is needed, only a GitHub login. Requests from the original author are honoured without question.
