Anybody purchase a Scorpion Helmet lately. Reviews refer to them as the best helmet available under $200.00. I was going to buy a Shoei 1000 but think the $310.00 is just too much and Shoei is getting really tight on their prices lately and not allowing much discounting. Scorpions are hard to find as well and even though dealers are listed on their website, nobody seems to have any inventory.

I work at a Honda dealership in the parts dept. and the Scorpion helmet line is not bad. Scorpion wants dealers to buy in with a large minimum order which most dealerships are reluctant to do because they are a relatively unknown entity in the marketplace. A great helmet in the under $200 range is the KBC VR-1, it is basically the same shell as the Arai from a few years back. I have seen a few Scorpions, I managed to get just a couple for customers and they are nice, nothing bad to say about them.

I have the Scorpion Raider. I am very pleased with it. It is just as comfortable as my Shoei RF 1000.

There was a link started a couple of weeks ago. Check here link
I bought a exo-700 fury, awesome helmet, highly recomended.

I was wearing an rf 1000 and need to replace it so hearing this is good news. Is the fit the same or are the sizes off?

Hi there:
I work for Scorpion Exo helmets and just wanted to clarify that we as a company do not require a minimum order at any time, you may order one item at a time from us. The dealers who have bought our helmets have done very well with them and are looking forward to a great spring! Any other questions, please email me.

Best Regards,

I find it interesting that this is your first post in the VFRd forum.

Well I like the scorps seen one up close - if my Aria takes a spill down main street Idaho Springs like my last one did, I might take a closer look at a Scorpion I think this ol thing has a few more seasons left in it. barring any :deer: The post seems harmless and not a blatent plug so I suppose its alright there KC - we are a suspicous bunch. Just 2 weeks ago we chased out an ambulance chaser for trying to solicit plaintifs for a claim against Honda, he obviously came to the wrong place perhaps he should have gone to hondahateclub.com instead of an enthusiast group? Perhaps a DEMO helmet for VFRD review :salesman: ? lol fat chance eh??

Maybe an opportunity for a group buy! :D

They were the same size for me. XL in RF900 and XL in Scorpion.

Was at my friends shop the other day and the Western Powersports Rep was there and he was pushing the Scorpion. Looks nice. They have several more mirror shield color options, green and rose, etc., than Shoei. Also they have different patterns for the removable liners, camo, leapard, checkers, etc. Overall they look good. I've only had Shoei, and see no reason not to buy another. Hope to find a blue Zemke on a closeout next season!

For a quick review of an EXO-700 Fury(red), very nice fit, great ventilation, great reduced noise, and removable liner. Great options for liners, colored visors, and colored accessories. The only thing I found on a downside was trying to wear a pair of sunglasses in the helmet. I just purchased a dark visor that works just as well. Great helmet at a great price! I expect greater things from them in the future.

Thanks, I'll pass this on to our rep in Nashville.
First I would like to say I'm not here to plug our helmet line. One of your members who was looking for a Scorpion helmet referred me to this site, said there were some great discussions about Scorpion and I should check it out.
As for me; I've been riding on the street for 9 years, I ride another brand of bike. My favorite riding adventure was in the Mojave desert on a dirt bike. I have worked in this fun industry for over 10 years, first as an accessory/clothing buyer for a large multiline store, then for a leading clothing manufacturer, and now with Scorpion. My boyfriend of 7 years also works in this industry, he's at a local dealership. Don't think I've ever met anyone who loves to ride more, he doesn't own a car, rides 365 days a year here in Indy. Can't imagine any other career where I could have this much fun! Thanks for your welcome, I'll sign out now!

Too bad the Scorpion line doesn't come in my size. I ended up buying a Shoei (XXXL that's right three XL), because it's so hard to find on that fits.

Plus most that are that big only come in black (maybe it's a stealth effect for the head).

Any plans on helping us plus sized fellows?

Good catch. :D

I started to post an intro but didn't want to jinx myself. I found a wonder of a deal on a 2000 VFR in Georgia and I'm going down to trailer it back to Maryland this weekend. Until then let's just say I'm a lurker with an enormous mellon ;)

I love the helmet bag with a extra place for a second visor.

RaceCase
the sturdy case fits most street helmets and features an exterior pocket for a spare faceshield. Available with red or silver trim.

I just bought a Scorpion EXO-700 from Helmet Harbor. I'm quite pleased with the helmet, except for the face shield, which is one of worst I've seen. It has pretty obvious vertical ridges in the middle of the shield, and enough distortion to be unacceptable.

I'm assuming that this is a defective shield, and that Helmet Harbor will take care of the problem (I just emailed them this morning, so haven't heard back yet). Has anyone else had problems with Scorpion shields?
#26
I just purchased an EXO 400 as a "spare" for when I have a passenger. I actually like it. It is not as comfortable at my Arai Quantum/f, BUT BUT BUT...it is a heck of a lot quieter. I have to wear earplugs at all times with my Arai. The Scorpion is fine without earplugs up to 60 mph. The anti-fog visor works well also.

I have 3 shields for my Scorpion and the clarity through them is perfect. I'm thinking you got a bad shield. Good luck.
#28
I agree that you must have a bad shield. I have two. The clear and a smoke shield and they are great.
