Shoei X-TEC fit

I would like to hear from those that have the Shoei X-TEC helmet, particularly those with the Large size. I have found a brand new, but unfortunately "YELLOW", Shoei X-TEC helmet at a bike dealer. It fits really really snug and my chin almost touches the chin bar, my goatee or facial hair does. Is this normal for this helmet? My friend has one and I tried it on but the new one seems tighter. He really likes it.
Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.
