I've been shopping for a new set of gloves, pricepoint between $100 & $200 and came across "Racer" brand gloves that I really like. Made in Australia, they seem to be very well put together, and they fit great, but I've never heard of the brand before so I hesitate to drop the $155 without knowing more. I currently wear Spidi gloves, and I had some really well built Helimots, and I would be totally happy with either brand again, but the "Racers" made me curious.... Anybody have any info?
Looks really nice from here! My favorite glove colors too! (Black and tan) I'm sure that's Roo hide I'm seeing. My experiance with Kangaroo hide has been really good (Held, Tecknic gloves). Soft, comfortable but strong and durable. Only thing I'd consider really checking out on those is the stiching quality (kevlar treads? double row?) and how comfortable it is under the knuckle armor area. Some gloves with the rigid knucle armor tend to be too stiff to flex properly.

All of my gloves have the rigid knuckles and yes they are rigid on every pair I have andn have tried on, however, all of them (various brands/models) break-in so to speak. They get softer so as your knuckles don't always turn red and hurt after a few hundred miles of wearing.
Those are some good looking gloves BTW. Agree with Beck on stitching and such, Roo hide is great and generally expensive but....

After trying on lot's of gloves, my girlfriend bought a pair of Racers. Besides having ladies sizes, they were the most comfortable for her, and got the nod from me as far as protection. On other gloves the knuckle guards hurt her hands. Originally I was hesitant to look at an "unknown" name glove, but I would say that they are in the same quality league as Held gloves. They have Kangaroo palms and appear to be extremely well constructed with lot's of double stitching throughout. They are getting really popular at the two shops we went to, and are outselling other better known brands. After a few rides (as a passenger) she just loves those Racers! She really likes the dexterity they provide and the "grippy things" on the finger tips. The needs of a passenger are less demanding as far as gloves go, but comfortable is still comfortable whether you are on the front or the back.
