http://www.newenough.com/sidi_strada_tepor..._boots_page.htm I've never been able to solve the boot variable of the riding gear equation. I've tried the Aerostich Combat Touring boot, and it's great until I get off the bike. I've tried Redwing boots that were great but not protective.
I want a boot that'll be solidly protective, comfy for a trot to a scenic overlook (a couple hundred yards, say) and for standing around telling lies at a rally, and reasonably waterproof (an hour or three through the rain).
The Sidi Strada looks like it'll be protective enough for spirited street riding, and they claim its waterproof. I'll believe it keeps dry when I hear it from one of you. Anyone got a pair of these, or a suggestion for something substantially similar?

I got the Oxtar Matrix Gore-Tex Boots and I am more than satisfied. 100% waterproof, highly protective and super comfy (comparing to other boots and not flip-flops ofcourse) when off the bike. Plus they are cheaper than the SIDI

Yeah I've looked at those and I keep hearing people really like them. They're on the short list, but New Enough doesn't seem to be able to keep size 9 in stock. Apparently the distributor is flaky. I'm often in-between a 9 and a 10, so I'd like to prder both and be able to pick the better fit. Do you think yours were true to size?
There is no one solution to your dilema. Sprort boots are rigid and leaned forward for aggressive riding leaving them less than ideal for walking but they are the most well protected. Touring boots are generally waterproof and lack ventilation as well as adequate protection in the heat they roast your feet.
So I use two differnt boots I used to have SIDI Vertigos and ICON Motorhead but my accident trashed my ICONs and the resulting injury rendered my Vertigos unusable. Over the winter I had some real succes with the Alpinestar Ridge touring boot but as soon as the 6th ring of hell descended upon Florida they became quite miserable. So I am going to procur a pair of either the ventilated SIDI's(I'm not sure they will fit) or the Alpinestar SMX plus boots for spirited riding and track days.

I have the Sidi Strada Evo Tepor (waterproof) boots and love 'em. They have a sporty look without being over the top like Vertigo Corsa racing boots, and they're waterproof as far as I know...mind you I haven't ridden for hours and hours in a down pour, but the few times I�ve been caught in the rain they didn�t leak. Temps here in SoCal are just starting to get warm, so we�ll see how hot these boots are in the dead of summer. Anyway, if being rain proof is a major concern for you, then I believe the Sidi Dry Road 2 Tepor might be what you are looking for�?
Also, the Sidi�s are �almost� true to size. FYI�I typically wear an 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe/boot, so I ordered a 42 and the inside label said it converted to a US size 8.5, but to me the 42 was more like an 8 so I returned them for a 43 and the inside label said US 9.5. The 43 fits great although I have never worn a size 9.5 in my life. Also, these boots aren�t too bad for walking�I�ve had mine since last October, and while they�ll never be like a well broken in pair of walking shoes they�re also not stupid ankle stiff like a racing style boot. The good thing is that New Enough has a great return/exchange policy, so you can�t go wrong if you buy from them.
I've also got a pair of the Strada Tepor boots and also love them. Comfortable for all day wearing, both on and off the bike. Enough protection to satisfy and fairly low-key appearance. I came home last weekend in a 3 hour downpour the whole way, not one drop of rain in the boots. My only "wish" for the boots is that they are warm for me in the summer. I'm looking for a ventilated boot now for summer riding. Overall, the Strada is very highly recommended.

I've had the SIDI's for about 2 years now, and they are awesome. Comfy enough to walk around in, and comfy on the bike. Ankle is big enough to tuck leathers in if you want, but small enough to tuck under boots. Protective, but look semi-normal for walking around. Waterproof as well - I commute in Seattle year-round, so believe me when I say it. I just recently scuffed up the toes at a track day, so they leak just a bit through the seam in one toe. Some boot-goo should fix that up. I only wish that I'd sprung for boots with a toe protector, but now that I know to tuck my toes in around the track, haven't had any more problems.
These boots are a little more expensive than the competition, but well worth the money. Even though I dislike some of SIDI's marketing policies, they make some great boots.

I did had to go a size higher then what my feet really are, Italians have small feet, i guess.
I've been using the gaerne st dry boots for a couple of years now and am totally satisfied. I cannot believe how little water gets in... They are comfortable and the build quality is great. My $0.02
I have had a pair of SIDI Sympatex boots for about 6 years now, they are still great and waterproof if now a little weather beaten
The Strada boots look a bit more like a race boot which are not nearly as comfortable. I have some SIDI race boots also and they suck for touring.
