I posted this on another forum with Aussies. I thought I'd hit this forum up as well to see if anybody can help.
I'm sure everyone is familiar with Draggin Jeans. I'm particularly interested in their cargo or chino pants which are sold at the Draggin Jeans Australia site. I'm interested in using these for commuting here in the U.S. It would meet my companies dress code and allow me to commute without feeling as vulnerable as I would with dress slacks.
The reason I'm asking any Aussies out there is because they don't sell the cargo or chino style draggin pants in the U.S. Only blue and black denim jeans. That doesn't meet my companies dress code.

You could also check out 'Hood Jeans' from the UK.
http://www.hoodjeans.co.uk/ I have a pair of their jeans and they are pretty good. So far I haven't "tested" them but they have kevlar reinforcing at the knees and hips. I seem to remember that they did a type of trouser as well.

Unfortunately those look mostly like denim and that doesn't fit the dress code at my place of work. Thanks for the link though.

I have a couple of pairs. My wife ordered them for me as a gift. I wear them on Fridays in the warm weather when we have a more casual dress code and I can skip the overpants. They are similar to the jeans as far as having kevlar in the same locations. Due to my short legs, we had to request that they put in extra kevlar at the knees. It took a couple of tries to get it right and I did have to get the pants hemmed, but they didn't charge extra to take standard size pants and add extra kevlar material. They charge a lot more to tailor the pants and make the kevlar at the correct location. They were very good to deal with and gave me an extra set of the knee armor in the process. It just took a long time because we had to send them back 2 times. I wish they offered them in the US as I can get the distributor/factory in Hickory on Saturdays and actually try things on etc.

Seems backwards that denim would be banned, but cargo is acceptable. As much as I love cargo pants, a walking luggage device appears less professional than jeans in the workplace. Have you asked about black jeans? Some companies will ban blue jeans, and accept black jeans.
And I agree with the other poster. Get some real armor with some impact protection that zips over your work clothes. It rules out leather, but most textiles cane be worn on top of clothes.
BTW, I've been able to wear leathers to a fortune 500 company, and strip down to my boxers in my cube. I would put my work clothes on in plain view of some opposite sex coworkers. I got away with it for a year, until a new boss laid down the rules - and forced me to walk to the locker room at another building. I'm not suggesting you necessarily go exhibitionist.. you just have to know the situation.

Usually wear textile overpants & leather or mesh jacket over work clothes as dress code is button down shirt & dress slacks. Summertime we are allowed to wear polo type shirts & khaki/docker style pants on Friday only. So, on Friday when the high is going to be near or over 100F I usually elect to wear Docker style Draggin Jean brand pants with their optional knee armor for my comfort. Personal choice.
