I just got my JR Textile jacket from "new enough"! The jacket is pretty sweet. fing02.gif I don't have anything to compare it too, but it seems like a high quality piece of protective gear.
I needed something that would work for both warm and cool temps, offer good protecton (pads for back, forearm and elbows with CE in the elbows and shoulders), heavy weight for sliding (660 weight), and colorful so people can see me coming.
I think this jacket acomplishes all of this and looks awesome!!
I'll post back when I get a chance to ride more that a half hour. wheel.gif
Let me know how you like it. I bought the Teknic mesh jacket and found it was not as cool as I had hoped. So I bought the Teknic Chicane leather jacket that is perforated. I found they both flowed about the same, so I sold the mesh jacket in lieu of more protection and comfort.

I'll be interested in how cool it is in the heat. Fortunetly/Unfortunetly it might not get warm for another 6 months! I've put about 200 miles on it (70 -80 degrees) and it felt great. Nice flow through the bicep vents with a little flow out the back vents. I imagine that if I lower the front zipper a few inches, the back vents would flow a lot more. I know that when the temps drop. I a pretty big boy and have considerable built-in insulation so I need flow. I hope its not too hot.

Perf leather is quite nice and I hope to have some later in life. I really feel well protected in this jacket. Not as bulletproof as leather, but pretty good. Hope I don't test it out!!
The 660 textile jackets I've owned (2) always seemed hotter in summer than leather. Had an old JR Phoenix 3.0 textile.....cool but always felt like I would have little protection if/ when needed. Went back to leather, gonna' stay. Know the feeling about leather not being budget friendly though..... fing02.gif

I see your point. The 660 seems to block a lot of wind and therefore some of the the cooling effect. Did you feel protected in the 660's? After reading about some of the mesh stuff, I don't think I want to be wearing that if/when I go down.
Being in Cleveland I don't have an unbearable amount of heat as compared to TN, but it does get pretty warm in the summer. I figured it was best to go with the heavy textile rather than wait for the $$ for nice perferated leather. Maybe I can see if my father in law will cough up the dowry he never made good on!! warranty.gif
I have a Tour Master Intake mesh jacket. It is made of a nice heavy-weight textile mesh with decent hard padding at elbows, shoulders and back. Comes with a waterproof liner and a thermal liner for 3 season use. Air flows through it like it isn't even there. Living in Nashville I was willing to compromise a little on outright abrasion resistance to get the coolest (temperature, not style) jacket I could find. While the 3 season capability of the Intake is a nice thought, I'll be picking up a leather jacket in a few weeks for cooler weather and save the mesh for the really hot times of the year.

I always felt "reasonably" protected. Always had a bad feeling about the mesh because it was even easy to snag. The 660's were only terribly hot in the Jun/ Jul/ Aug Tn months. Yeah, probably more comfy in your area. Till there's a "leather budget(been there)", the 660 CBR will probably serve you well...don't test it though. Good looking jacket too...... beer.gif

A guy I work with, went down this weekend in a JR Phoenix Mesh jacket and Phoenix Mesh Pants.... overcooked an exit off ramp entry, hit hard enough and slid far enough to completely total his R6. Details are sketchy but he slid far enough to have time to get off the R6 before it hit the curb and did several flips, he claimed his foot was somehow caught under the bike and was propelled a bit but nothing like the bike... he says he was going WAY TOO FAST coming in to the ramp and didn't realize until too late.
End result... several bruises and soreness, nothing broken, and he claims very little road rash and no "gravel in the skin". I'm trying to tactfully get the Mesh jacket from him for pics, but since the bike is totaled he's not in the best attitude about everything... so maybe eventually I will get a few pics. His helmet, a Shoei, is trashed as well.
So there you go a GOOD REPORT about Mesh products... and specifically Joe Rocket. Certainly not as good as leather for protection, but no way would I wear leather in 95 degrees and 90% humidity.... as well as most of the time down here, better than a t-shirt...
