Hey HS & gang,

I have been looking at the VFRD mission statement cartoon bike since I joined & would love to see that available on a tee shirt printed very large on the back and small one on the front chest on a pocket (or something similar). Who did the drawing & can it be made available on the Cafepress site for purchase?

Years back I had one of my EMS trucks airbrushed on a tees shirt when in FL on a trip & it was a hit. I love the drawing....

I asked the exact same question earlier this year, and I was told that some artist had done it, and copyrighted it, and we can't use it because of that. Now if someone wants to make their own rendering... I'd be down for at least two or three!

Awhile back I saw a seller on eBay that was selling t-shirts with different cartoons of several models of bikes (along with other vehicles), and it looks like the same one they had...maybe the same artist? It would be great if we could get one done for each generation and have t-shirts made.

Yes, I'd buy a couple.

HS has that image on the front of the Fall Dragon Ride shirts so I'm not sure about a copyright. Looks very good on the shirt though.

There is the highest res version I could find at one point, at least you could make your own shirt.

Saw that thread. H.S. needs to chime in here. It's very possible that he only had permission for a limited run. That would explain all of it.

I hoped HS will answer this, but it seems he missed this tread so far. As I remember this picture is under no trademark and free to use. I PMed with him a few moons ago because I saw this picture somewhere else, and he informed me that the pic is nor his or VFRD's. Of course let's wait for him and what he says. I could be wrong...

Well I had permission to use it from Jean Michel the guy who started the vfrd club de france he was the first member ever at vfrd so we have a bit of history. He bought it from the artist who is also French. Then Jean Michel dissapeared off the face of the earth or somthing cause I never hear from him again, and then the cartoon started to appear on just about every webite about vfrs there is. I no longer use it as an official logo because of the perliferation of those who are using it without permission - however I never had cause not to use it from Jean Michel who still owns the image. I guess he has given it up since its all over the place, oz, france, and various other websites across the globe.

So I use it now and then but I dont have a high res of it anymore, long lost in a hard drive crash. I dont care if you use it - but its not mine but I do have permission to use it having permisision to use it doenst not include rights to let other use it. If you can manage to get in contact with Jean Michel go for it, I havent been able to in years. I guess he has moved on long sold his vfr and is riding somthing else not even a honda I guess? I can't remember the website of the artist either but its also french, he does all kinds of cartoon figure bikes. Sells them on the net too. You might have some luck if you speak french contact sombody on that site for info on the artist. You will notice the image right off the bat.
