I haven't seen this discussed before, so hear goes.
You seem to have limited storage when riding with leather gear, lack of pockets so I went to Big Five Sporting Goods today and purchased a sportsmans vest commonly used for hunting and fishing. Price was $20.00
It has plenty of zippered pockets both front and back. It can be easily worn over your leather jacket.
I did not buy a fluorescent color but I have seen them which would be nice for visibility.
Now everything but the kitchen sink at my fingertips. :goofy:
LastchanceYou don't want to fall with that on for sure.
Why not? He said he was going to wear it over his leather, I don't see a problem unless he's carrying his hunting knife and fishing tackle in the pockets... :joystick:

anything hard is going to at least hurt in a crash
This brings up something I've always agonized over: what to do with a cell phone while riding? Tank bag or on your person.
In the bag it's safer, out of the weather, and easy to charge if you have the hookup but in a worse case scenario accident (by yourself, down the side of hill, out of sight, and not able to get back to the bike, etc) it's of no help.
On your person, you run the risk of it hurting you during impact and/or breaking. Most of my jackets inside pockets position it right on the heart area.
It seems to me that gear should have more pockets. It's hard to carry keys, cell phone, a pen, a small pocket notebook, dark glasses, a wallet, and gloves. Surely gear could provide for carrying these items without increasing the risk of injury.
I was mainly thinking of using this on a long haul trip, not on the race track or aggressive twisties. A good point about injury though. If you want to minimize risk hole up in a room and watch TV the rest of your life.

 An excellent observation. If I were a "what if" person I'd never ride, wouldn't let me kids play sports where they 'might' get hurt sometime, wouldn't splurge on great stuff I want...and I'd get a lot less joy out of living, that's for sure.
As for the pockets thing, I hate carrying stuff in my jacket pockets. I'll do it, but I don't like it. Finally bought a tank bag about a month ago. Now I have a place for my keys and cellph, plus a small first aid kit and Swiss Army knife. Will also hold a couple small maps, etc. Even stays in place at 100+ mph. Just don't ask me how I know that.
