Any idea where I can find an armored jacket for a child? I've found a leather bomber jacket, but that's not what we're looking for. My boys love riding with my wife and I, but we're not taking the 8 year old more than around the block without a good jacket. Any advice?

Thanks

I have riding Jackets for both my kids.

My son is (just) 11 but physically on the small side of average in height/weight. We would up getting him a fully armorer Mens Small from Joe Rocket and it fits perfect with the liner removed, a bit more snug with the liner in.

I think this is the model, we got it on close-out at the local Honda dealer for $90

My daughter is now 13 and she has a Womens Med joe Rocket jacket as well.

This is the one we got for her this past Christmas.

Ditto on the Joe Rocket and the 11 and 13 year old kids! I got my now 13 year old daughter a JR when she was about 10. We tried on a few before settling on a Women's size XS. The sleeves were about 4 inches too long but if you unzip the wrist/forearm zipper and tuck it back up inside the sleeves, it was a perfect fit. We couldn't find any street gloves for her but bought her some MX gloves that also worked great. She was too small for any street pants so she would just wear jeans with her rollerblade pads on underneath for some extra protection. This jacket is getting too small for her now but her 11 year old sister is inheriting it from her.

Check out www.newenough.com's closeout section. They will often times have killer deals on leftover unusual sizes such as the XS's.
