My son who rides in CT sent me a link for this piece of emergency equipment. I've done the prerequisite searches and found nothing on the forum about it, so here goes. It seems that getting good information to the EM's quickly could be crucial, particularly on a bike. The tag looks pretty durable, so I plan to get one for my son and myself for Christmas this year.

That�s nice but it requires the paramedics to carry that electronic reader with them to view your information. Shayne has a link on his avatar that I checked out which is much more user friendly and easily accessible. Check it out.
Another good thing to do is if you carry a cell phone, add some contacts that start with ICE...most emergency responders will check your cell phone for emergency contacts to call. I actually start mine with a period so that they are at the top of my contacts list (your cellphone may differ, but play around and find a character or use the number 1 so that it is on the top of the list.)
For example, my cell phone contacts start with .ICE-Wife-home, .ICE-Wife-Cell, .ICE-Parents, .ICE-neighbor, etc.

I like the ICE tag, but you do have a point. I would think every ambulance has a Laptop with a USB port on it though. Any EMTs out there?. My handwriting sucks too. To many years using a keyboard.
An excellent idea to always have emergency info on you when you ride for many reasons, as riders we can go down in a single bike accident and be found by someone or what has happened several times to me, be riding with another member or other rider that you don't really know well and they go down. You have a buddy lying there and no idea who to call or any detailed info about him. That is BAD!
I suggest a simpler ID tag. I handed them out free at every TexasMac Annual VFRD Meet over the last few years, but can't remember the name of them at the moment. There much like alwaysaware linked tags, but actually attach to your helmet.
We have a thread or two about them here somewhere. :blush:

One of the best ideas I've seen yet on the board.
Most paramedics nowdays know to locate a person's cell phone first. When I went down in 2004 the paramedics fished through my gear and found my phone. Apparently they do this often enough to know what "signs" to look for on a person's cell phone to figure out which number is the wife or SO. As my wife works for a foreclosure real estate attorney, she gets a lot of unhappy type phone calls. She started to hang up on the paramedics until she heard the siren in the background and thought "Maybe I need to take this call, the old man's out on his scooter today".
BTW, you EMT's are the greatest. Never found out who the one's were that picked me up, but they knew how to handle a motorcyclist and did an extraordinary job - except they remove all of your gear with scissors- but I know they do that to not make you move your limbs until they figure out what's busted. I had to write off a complete outfit due to it being scissored apart.
