I saw it for the first time this weekend being sold at Infineon Raceway for around 60 bucks.
It's a pump up air bag system that fits at the crown of the helmet interior. It gently pushes the helmet of a rider's head as it is pumped up with a small hand pump similar to what's used on blodd pressure reader cuffs. The slow and supposedly gentle removal of the helmt using this will avoid any damaging twisting of the rider's head
I checked to see if it was being sold by motorcycle dealerships in my area, but I haven't been able to locate any so far.
I think I'll get one for my helmet next time I visit the Infineon racetrack in Sonoma. 60 bucks does not seen to be too much if it's going to help avoid spinal injuries post crash.
It'll be great if someone here can give us a review on the ease of installation or maybe even an actual account of it being put to work with hopefully best results, of course!
