Yeah, totally digging these. I have their Contour back brace and I love it. I wanna try these on first, found a place close to me but they're only open M-F 10AM-4PM. Haven't had a chance to sneak time off work to check them out. I also like the model below this one, the Biomech, $50 less is more appetizing.

I have been wearing Handroids for about 18 months. I really, really like them. I have NOT put them to the test, but have found them to be comfortable after a pretty long breakin period. On me, they fit about a size smaller than I expected.

So they run a size smaller ?

Putting gear to the test is always a mixed bag. On the one hand (pun intended) you hope they do their job and on the other, you hate to see them get tore up! If the gear is quality and/or the event was minimal, you get lucky and you both come out OK. Personally I think the Bilt gloves I have, probably won't survive a major impact, but they are doing the job of keeping my hands comfortable and covered for now. Definitely some Knox coming my way soon...

You have pretty much covered both extremes of the gear market with two sentences.   :laugh:

I can promise you the Bilt are useless.  I have owned three products of theirs (though nothing as protection-critical as gloves) and they disintegrated before my eyes in a matter of months.  It kills me that the local Cycle Gear has basically become a Bilt/Sedici Chinese flea market.

As far as the Knox stuff, my $100 RS Taichi seem to do just fine, but to each their own.   :smile:

They look wicked if a little gimicky.  Are those bands on the back of the fingers under tension? Might get obnoxious pulling against them for any length of time, no matter how slight. My Spidi's are very comfy and my hands never tire.

I have a pair of Teknic gloves that are simular wrist pads. I buy gloves like girls buy shoes. I have a lot of knuckles gloves and most hurt the back(knuckles) of my hands. Also have to buy gloves in person to be sure the web between the thumb & index finger don't tighten the fit on my thumb & fingers.

I tend to buy gloves that fit my paws. 3x is hard to find so I have to get what is available.

We won't even go into the subject of my melon head

My favorite glove for feel on the controls is my Cortech Adrenaline.  The goat leather palm/fingers have incredible feel with decent protection on the back side.  I got a pair of Taichi's thrown in with a race suit and they are VERY protective, but I only wear them on the track since they are pretty stiff for everyday comfort.  I also tend to buy gloves like women's shoes Monk...you are not alone.  My everyday gloves right now are Shift Bullet.  The Handroids look really cool, but the price has kept me away for now.

No, they are not under tension. They slide easily through the plastic guides. Fatigue is not an issue.

I also have some Teknic Violator gloves with scaphoide protectors (wrist sliders that are actually made by knox). Although I have not put them to the test, they seem like a really good idea and I wonder why there aren't more companies doing this. Sliding on your wrists (often the first point of impact) instead of putting strain on the leather and then on the little bones that make up the hand seems like a no brainer to me.

I have like 20 sets, I found a excellent buy on SP-2's at BikeBandit and purchase 2 pair at $56.00 a set. Very very comfortable gloves.

Well a week and half ago I pulled the trigger and bought the Knox Biomech gloves and they finally came in today. These are a birthday gift to myself and it was apropos that they came in today, my actual birthday is today! I also bought a pair of Teknic Lighting gloves. Both have the Knox SPS (Scaphoid Protection System), the little plastic sliders on the palms of the glove, but the Knox has the "BOA" lacing system which is really cool. It works great and is very quick and easy to adjust. The Teknic gloves only have a limited range of gauntlet closure and it's done with Velcro, but they work fine with the jacket I mostly wear so no worries there.

I plan on using the Teknic gloves for daily commuting and the Knox when I eventually get to do some track days! Ironically I ended up paying $50 more than just the Handroid alone, which is why I was thinking the Biomech in the first place, they were $50 cheaper that the Handroid. But this way I end up with two pairs of nice gloves for that same difference and still not break my bank! I did have a discount coupon for MC Superstore so I did save a little money, besides they're my birthday present. It's not that I didn't like my Bilt gloves but they were just temporary and served their purpose. Now they'll be spares. Truthfully, as mentioned before, I don't know how they would hold up if they were ever called upon in a hands to the ground crash. (Knock on wood I won't find out with the new gloves either)

The fit of the Knox is pretty snug but seems accurate for their measuring guide, I measured as a small so that's what I ordered. I ordered the Teknic in a medium, as that was what their guide suggested, but they have a little more room, so maybe these should have been a small too. Definitely happy with both but until I get some more time with both I can't say much about the overall quality and longevity just yet. Although a cursory look at them, they both appear to be very well made.

Apparently, those 'bands' are to prevent hyperextension of your fingers. They'll allow your fingers normal movement without restriction, but inhibit rapid movement in the wrong direction.
The Handroids have been available here virtually since they were released. I was tempted to buy some (or the Bionics) but recently bought some new waterproof gloves to replace my Spidi H2Out gloves (still intact but not quite so waterproof as they were. I bought some Rev'it gloves. Took me nearly an hour of trying various gloves on in the shop next door to my new workplace till I found some that fit well without bulk.  The bonus was the built-in visor wiper on the left index finger - I've wanted this for years. Haven't tried them in the rain yet, but it's supposed to piss down tomorrow, so no doubt they'll be tested.
