Try Servicehonda.com. I think you want part number 17620-MT4-020 ($90.83) but don't quote me on that.

Look up your own part numbers

so i was thinking of the "keyless" gas cap way out. Does anyone know of a place that sells them that might actually cater to older VFR's?
#7
any bike gas tank interchangable as far as the gas caps go?

Anyone out there??? tongue.gif Know anything about those "Keyless" gas caps...maybe they have even seen one on an older VFR?

The Vortex models are great for that "Racer Bling." I have one on my, ahem, racebike...
The base is different for each bike make. The Honda should fit any Honda sportbike. The cap fits any, and you can mix and match colors. I have a silver base, and black cap.
You have a round cap assembly with three mounting bolts, and other dummy bolts that just fit into the base assembly? My CBR is a '98, and my VFR is a '99. They are interchangeble, and fit any other Honda sportbikes I've seen.
My stock VFR, and the Vortex on the CBR.

They look suprisingly exactly like the Vortex. I thought the Protek were different...
In any case, check out my friend's website for his bike shop. You likely won't be finding it listed as a "click to buy" type of thing, but drop him an E-mail telling him you want a Honda Vortex base and cap and he'll send one out to ya or drop ship if not in stock. I don't think the Vortex are as expensive.

Yes, it is just a screw on and off type of thing. In case no one mentions it, I was reccomended to grease the threads for the first installation of the cap into the base.
