To keep this simple, here is the list of attendees that I could put down as definites for Friday Set 15th in Bancroft:

Ken
Dennis
Todd (Dennis' Bro)
RobertV19
Superchode
Bob from Ottawa
Larry the Lobster
Pat (Pgreen94)

Here are the "Maybe's" for Friday night or Saturday:

MCREW
Machinebuilder
Danno2
Veefermadness
Dave M
Dude
Gmtech94
Banshee
Jimmer
Silverbullet
Grond1234

Not a bad number and if everyone show we'll have 19 riders. If I missed someone, or you plan to come please adjust the list and repost the revised list.

At this point I think we plan to meet the Saturday riders at the Top of the 507 in the LCBO parking lot for 10:00 - 10:30 am. From there, I suggest we head east along 503 to the 648 loop, get off at #10 or Elephant Lake road. From there, we take that up north and easterly to Petersen Lake Road, and into Bancroft for lunch around 1:oopm ? (Hard to pinpoint the time- depending on how the "pace" is going......)

After lunch in Bancroft, I plan to ride back toward the 507, head south on it (Salute the Machine Builder Test site just south of the top) and on down into Bobcaygeon. From there - I'll likely be hightailing it for home!

Hope to meet some new faces, and see some old and ugly familiar ones as well!! laugh.gif

Hey. I resemble that remark.

going to pick up oil and filter tonight. Needs to be done before I go.
May look at a tail bag too.

The schedule sounds good to me. I am working on my brother
to possibly get the hell outa Dodge earlier on Friday. I would like to be in Bancroft before it gets dark.

And then........ I believe I may have a beverage or 5.

I only specified a single bed and their computer system was down when I ordered it. However, if Dennis' floor is full, you can bunk in at mine.

I think that a few of us are planning on riding after we sign in at the motel, somewhere around 14:00 when the rooms are ready.

Superchode; if you need to stay in my room, we can meet outside the motel registration office at a specific time on Friday. What time do you expect to be arriving at?
#5
pgreen and I are planning to meet at the hotel around 2PM Friday, so if there are others there...no problem. We planned to ride for a few hours before Ken buys dinner for everyone!

I'm in for the whole ride Saturday as I'll be following Ken on his way home.
#6
Is any body going to stay overnite Saturday? BTW, Sunny and 23 degrees Canadian Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lobster - I'll be bringing the 20 lb bag of white rice - and I'll even pick up a fresh bottle of Soya Sauce......

I'm still not sure of my departure time but those four headlights on the front of the bike - they are for night time use right? It'll work out just fine......

Do you have room for one more on the ride? I finally traded up to a VFR two weeks ago. I'll likely just wake up early and ride up Saturday morning. Just to confirm..is that the LCBO in Gooderham?

I'll be bike-less, so I think my staring at their Viffers might make them uncomfortable.... blink.gif

Crap! Can't fit it in to my plans this weekend. Hope you all have a great time. Enjoy the roads, the colours, the beer...

Cheers beer.gif

Hopefully there will be a spring ride that I can make!
#29
Aargh! I'm going to miss this one too. And I'll be riding in the same area! (only on the KTM).

Damn.

But as history has shown, I'll probably meet some of you guys at a gas station or something...

#34
I hate to say this 'cause I really, really, really want to go but.....
I've got to bail.
It's the prudent thing to do. (this time)

This sucks!
I've got 25km on the bike after a half major teardown and 25km on me after a summer of no riding.
Not a great recipe for an 800km ride.

Thanks to everyone for their offers to hang back and ride with me.
I wish I could take you up on it. I certainly will, next time 'round.

Have a safe weekend (I'm sure it will be, I won't be there) and say hi to the 507 for me. (and the cougars)

Aw bugger, this does suck.

(I'm itching to get out)
#35
man family plans have forced me to bail as well hopefully we can have another ride soon Joe
#36
I'm in!
See jimmer and m-crew @ the Brooklin Timmies.
I'm leaving London ~5:30 so should be there between 7:30 and 8:00.
Dan.
#37
MAchine Builder - too bad you had to bail but I do see your point. YOu don't have a lot of miles under your "new" belt, probably not a great plan to push for a 1000 km weekend.....

GOt your pm - and we will raise a glass to your recovery - you can count on it. Except next time we're together - we'll buy you a round for pulling through like you have. beer.gif

See you jokers tomorrow or Saturday - I'm heading out around 10:00 am tomorrow - hope to hook up with BOb, Lobster, and Pat in Bancroft around 2pm.

Safe ride to all!
#38
I'm going to try and make the sat morn meet in brooklin. beer.gif
#39
Guys have a good, safe ride, the weather looks great for the weekend.
I'll be in the NICU with my new little one who's doing very well and should be home soon.

All the best!
#40
well, what's a group ride without some last minute cancellations.

i don't have enough left on my rear tire to pull it off - bad planning on my part but the trip to shannonville and back on wednesday did me in. thought there'd be enough for both, but it's not looking good.

sorry, guys. i'll get the rear swapped on saturday and sit on the bike making rev'ing noises and pretend i'm chasing a pack of VFRs.
#41
I'm so jeleous of all of you that are riding up this Sat. The weather looks to be truly perfect...and I'm stuck working! Oh well, everybody better remember to enjoy the ride a lil' bit for us guys that are trapped in the big city this lovely September weekend.

Ride safe.

#46
Thanks everybody for the great ride. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I got home about 30 mins ago. Pics to post later. 900 km for me - awesome two days - great people, great roads, great time!!!
#48
You know its always a pleasure to go on these group rides. beer.gif We have a really great group of guys here in s/w ontario , not to mention the 2 honouary canadians Lobster and Pgreen goofy.gif . To see new riders like Afennel out on his 2 week old viffer and others on their first rides with the group makes it all a great way to spend time riding the twisties. Really enjoyed the company guys and hope you all made it home safe and sound beer.gif fing02.gif
#49
I'm home safe too.
Great day guys.
I'm going to have a couple of these beer.gif and go to bed.
#50
Glad you guys had a good ride. Trust me I would have rather been there than
tearing out soaked drywall. Installed 3 new down spouts, and window well covers.

Supposed to rain again Monday. Hopefully we stay dry this time.

OK - I'm going to try to make sense, a little tired, and it feels great!

I've got a couple pics uploaded, I'll try to get them in some type of order.....

Petersen Road, and the Elephant lake area has (for us northener) some really awesome roads. I just wish I'd discovered them back in June, because the Soo trip would happenned here instead....

A shot of one of the lakes early this morning. Beautiful!

Bob getting his lean going, no sparks in this one though.

Pat (Pgreen94) tossing his neew wheels into the curve.

Larry(Lobster) likely runing his mouth off as his wailed through the shot. laugh.gif

THat'd be me totally loving the new Z6's. I sure felt like I was leaned over farther, but as I was told - they aren't chicken strips - they are safety strips - the bigger they are - the more room you have to lean it over farther if necessary!!

THe obligatory shot at the Gooderham LCBO parking lot.

Our lunch stop in Maynooth - we swarmed the restaurant!

THe winner of the "Most Decalled" (thats pronounced Deckell by the way) VFR goes to the Lobster!

And this last one - well - MCREW decided that in the event he met up with a Cougar to his liking, at the local restaurant, he wanted to be sure to have the proper gear. ALl the gear all the time - right?

George was prepared, and proud of it.................

Sorry Bud - you had to know this was going to be shown!! beer.gif

LAstly - here is the video that PAt shot today.

Great day - I need a beverage.... beer.gif

Just made it home. What a great ride!!! beer.gif I will post the pics that I took later. It is 275 miles from the of 507 to my drive way, 200 to the US side of the border and then another 75 home. I came on the 7, what is up with all of the cops on that road, they were everywhere. After that I stopped at Sunsets, home of the Canadian WDGAH, in Sharbot Lake.

Only VFR's This is aat Sunset's in Sharbor Lake, Ontario Canada.

More to follow.
#56
It was a great trip. The folks with me made the roads fun.

Ken: Thanks for taking the lead in all the organizing that you did.
#57
HEres a video that Pat took of us ripping through a section of the Petersen Road.

#58
glad you guys enjoyed it. was lucky i did stay home... rode to my father-in-law's place this morning to get my rear wheel off and the belt was showing.

maybe dennis and I can get something else going if there's some nice weather left... make a run to the falls or something.
#59
Larry that sucks about the card . Ive had that happen twice in the last year but the bank handled it , hopefully yours will too. Look on the bright side, you scored some ear plugs out of the deal goofy.gif
#60
It was truly great to finally meet so many "famous" (or is it infamous Larry?) VFRD members.
Y'all (for the benefit of our American cousins) made those of us who had never been on one of these rides feel very welcome.

Thanks to Ken for organizing.
Thanks to Greg for a great ride up Friday night.
Thanks to BobinOttawa for the accomodations.

The colours are just starting to hit their stride.
Within another 1-2 weeks they will be stunning.

The OntVFR list has an annual Fall Colours (note the "U" Larry and Pat!) Ride.

I know some folks subscribe to that list as well, but for those that aren't I will post deets as I see 'em.

Cheers,

Rob
