Bike Cover

Any ideas on what bike cover fits the 6th gen the best. The one I have now makes rub marks on the screen and tail if it's windy outside. I have seen form fit covers mentioned and tried the search but no luck.

If you're worried about the cover rubbing against the bike, you should probably look at something like this:

Neither are cheap. You might as well buy a large tent and set it up in your backyard or something. At least with the tent you can reuse it on camping trips. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/wink.gif)

I have a Nelson Riggs fitted cover for my 06. I really like it for keeping dust off of the bike or keeping sun, bird droppings off of it. it really only covers the top portion of the nike and does not flap in the wind. I have hard bags on my bike and it does not cover them. I keep my bike in the garage so it's really not an issue but if you store your bike outside I would look at a full size cover.

This will be my 1st winter storing a m/c. It'll be strictly in my garage, so it doesn't need to be windproof/waterproof. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for in a cover? I'm really just concerned about dust and ease of use, plus I don't want to spend a fortune since this is just for home in my heated garage.

If it�s just for storage in your heated garage I'll make you a killer deal on a king sized sheet......
Seriously, if you want to buy a cover just for the garage I would go with the cheapest you could find. Look in the ad section of cycle mag�s, there is usually a few ads for covers.

Thanks guys, my bike is inside for the winter. It's next season I'm shopping for as my bike stays outside all summer (covered).
I really like the look of the cycleshell!

Nelson Riggs makes a full cover that draps over the entire bike - has vent / wind flaps in it and bungy cords at the bottom to secure it. Not the cheapest around but the quality is good and mine has held up for 3 years now both inside use and outside use.... your mileage my vary!!

LOL! Yeah, that's pretty much what I used last spring before weather permitted (almost) everyday riding. I may end up using the same sheet, but I figured there's gotta be some advantage to actual m/c covers, otherwise why would people pay for 'em? At least in situations like mine - warm, dry garage.

Well I have a new and better solution, I just moved into a house with 2 garages! Woot!woot!

Geza Gear makes a great cover but like someone else said they are expensive.



Don't know how I ever serviced without a garage though. Wonderful thing.

The geza cover is also subject to stretching and after a year of the cover going on and coming off again a large blanket would be a suitable substitute and would cost a fraction of the price.

I too like the cycle shell. It's cheaper than the bike barn and has a locking mechanism as well as a portable floor if I remember correctly. They can be had on ebay for less than $200 if your there at the right time.
