I was doing a little surfing between storms and found this site, Jackets4bikes. Here are a few of the suits they are offering. The red/whit/black suit is on sale for $189.00 and the blue/black suit is $239.00 and I think they have free shipping too. Has any one heard of them or tried them? I know they are not top quality but they have to be better than my "cloth" Tourmaster gear; right? Thanks, JD

I'd order one if they had my size but of course no one has my size when its on sale. :dry:
They have spelling errors right on the home page. Maybe gear is like tires? Maybe not the area to save a buck...
1. Spelling errors always make me think SCAM.
2. Your cloth tourmaster gear may actually hold up better--the quality of the stitching is almost as important (if not more so) than the materials used.
I have an AGV Sport suit that is on it's fourth season. It gets abused, although it has not yet seen asphalt. This suit has been well worth the $300 that I paid for it, although it is now developing a small hole in the crotch. I highly recommend this suit to anyone in the market for a suit if they are on a budget.

Also, FWIW I just picked up a Spidi 2 pc suit (that is AWESOME) for $227 on eBay ... If you want a premium suit try a second hand one, most people just use them a couple of times anyways :biggrin:

I have had very good experiences with these two vendors.
Newenough.com They have excellent customer service and a generous return policy. (They will donate a $1 to VFRD if you select them during the checkout process).
SportBikeTrackGear They have some Alpinestars on sale for $499.
If they are above your price range, keep looking. As one person suggested, ebay is a good alternative. I also picked up a set of Spidi one-piece leathers for a great deal. And they were practically brand new.
Haven't had any experience with jackets4bikes. There are certain brands of leathers that you see repeatedly at track days. I think that is for a reason. Manufacturers would quickly get a poor reputation if their suits were busting open during crashes. Most track days have at least 3-4 guys going down. You can get a quick first hand glimpse of the durability of different brands.

The problem is always the same : is the suit sold at the price it worth ? The question is valid for the low cost brands and for the most famous manufacturers...
I have bought a leather jacket on e-bay (seller located in germany, laether jackets, pants, suits) last year, at the price of a basic mesh jacket ; the quality of the leather is good , it loks "strong built", it fits well, but the only question is : will the seams support a fall ? I'm not hurried to do the test...

Is that an AGV suit like the ones worn in the GEICO commercial by the cavemen getting off the two cruisers :laugh: ?
I saw some suits like that at the IMS show. I think they were made of kitty cat leather, super soft. I dont think it would hold up at all.

Actually I thought that the suit in the first post looked like the ones from the Geico commercial. That commercial always cracks me up, leathers and cruisers, hahaha.

+1 on the AGV stuff. I have their Sportrider perfed leather pants and LOVE them. I hit pretty hard on a gravel shoulder and the pants held up perfect. Their full two piece suits are only a little more than that ebay stuff. Call then direct at 1.800.613.7273 and just ask what kind of deals they have going on. BTW, their size chart sucks. I ordered the same size I wear in pants and they fit perfect.
suspect this is a foreign company/importer, with a poor grasp of english grammer... appear to be from the upper great lakes area, based on shipping map found on ebay link...
i'd be interested in anyones feedback who has ordered product from them...
prices are right, quality is the question...

Ditto, Gap. I paid same and am pretty happy with mine. Haven't abused it as much as you but I'm not done yet.

Ever seen a Frank Thomas suit after a faily slow loside. I have and I'd rather be in good textile gear anyday. Not to say these particular items are of poor quality but generally you get what you pay for.

bought my avo sport one piece suit five years ago and i have been down three times in it. only shows damage to the lettering on the right forearm and this suit is perforated. i wear this suit in any weather year round, but in the cold and wet i wear rainsuit over it! paid $425 OTD. :fing02:

They seem pretty good. Leather is fairly thick, some of the stitching is hidden, some isn't. Looks like it would hold up okay-- but I'm hoping I don't have to test it out. Any questions?
