Mag-Knight Tank Protector

What do you think? Nice product a little hard to install but outside temp was a little low. LOOKS AWESOME.

I think it looks pretty good and was looking at this for my black 06. Are these the ones from Sargent?

I had one on my silver '01.
Fit is as good as your patience makes it, and colour match was near perfect - check my gallery; you have to look closely!

Overpriced, though. It's just a thick 'fridge magnet.

How grippy is it under your knees? Does it slide around if you grip really hard?

Interesting product. I don't know why motorcycle manufacturers don't build in rubber sides and backs to their tanks straight away. Then again, I just rolled on Herculiner on my whole tank and now I'm done with worrying about it :-D

No it doesn't slide around.

No matter how hard I tried a little dirt always worked its way behind the cover. The edges were easy to clean and I was careful. The deeper the dirt went UNDER the harder it was to prevent the "rub" - dull spots in the paint. After a few really rough spots that I had to polish out I went with 3M clear plastic protecter. Never had the dirt problem again.

The Mag people featured the VFR on their website - and yea it looks great. Keep an eye on the grit that works its way behind the cover.

THANKS for the warning,I had the 3M clear plastic protector, they turned yellow after a year.

i have one on my 02. mine has started to crack and if you dont get it on just right at high speeds it will try to peel off.im not very impressed with it and it is overpriced.

nice - wonder if they have something similar for a 5th GEN

I have one made for a CBR of some sort on my bike. It fits really well considering it wasn't made for a VFR tank. I have no idea what manufacturer mine is. It works great, never had any problems with it flying off or dirt getting underneath it.
