After a 10 day tour to from Toronto to Virginia and back I knew that if I wanted to continue touring on my VFR800 that I would need some new gear -specifically a new seat and possibly a footpeg lowering kit.

I read the reviews on this forum and others about the Corbin vs. Sergent vs. Stock and decided to go with the Sergent.

I love my new seat and so does my butt! Prior to the Sergent I would be hurting after about an hr of riding but now I can go several and feel fine. A few by-product benefits I found was that I didn't feel the need for extended footpegs either as the Sergent is a bit higher than the stock seat, giving my knees a much needed break (I'm 6'0). Also, the seat is cut into two pieces, which allows you to take off the pillion portion to get access to your 1 litre worth of storage under there without having to take the entire seat off. It's great for storing small tools or other hand-sized objects.

The seat looks pretty bad-ass well. I splurged the extra $10 to get the trim that matches my bike color and it was well worth it. The trim really accents the rest of the bike quite nicely.

One area where I will switch back to the stock seat is when I take the bike to the track. On the stock seat I feel a lot closer to the bike and can get deeper leans into turns on the stock vs the Sergent.

I can't comment on the Corbin, but if you only have a stock seat get an after market seat - either one - it's probably the best mod you can make to your VFR.

I have a Sergent and lowering pegs and its all day comfortable! Trace rode it up Cherohala skyway at Tmac and his quote when he got off was "its like riding on a Barkalounger!" LOL...Not sure if that is good or bad.
