Need an OEM key blank and can only find them on ebay. Since I don't use the site, the one and only seller of an OEM blank won't allow me to make a purchase.

2thdr: I found a few locksmiths who could easily fashion a key, but I feel strange sticking a non-oem key into my Viffer. I don't know. To me, sliding a non-OEM key into my ignition is similar to letting someone else sleep with your girlfriend.......... :huh:
The image conjured by the non-oem comment is rather interesting. My machine(s) would definitely yell RAPE! or at least harassment. I wonder if suspensions would become (temporarily) stiffer? :ohmy: Or cause :wheel: .

How could I have ignored the importance of your insight? Perhaps it is because I purchased my 2004 used from an intermediate third party and so from the beginning, I felt that my VFR was somehow contaminated. I never even got to meet the original owner. Then came the drop at the end of the sloped driveway when I was having my electrical problems (engine died and I fell over)...and right after I had my baby repainted...ugh! Now she is truly compromised. So when I came to need some extra keys I didn't give it a second thought
If I ever can afford to get a new VFR or one that has been cared for and nurtured I will not be so careless...

Hi - just wondering how you got on with that part number for a 2006 VFR800 ? From What I can gather the part number quoted in this thread is a key with NO encoder chip hence you cant start the bike with HISS security ? Is this true ?
I am based in Australia and I bought one of these keys (PN: 35121-MAS-G01) but I think I should have bought PN 35121-MBW-601 which has the encoder chip.
Per my understanding, the VFR with the "mph" display are not having any chip inside - that 's made for US/Euro market.
Any Honda bikes with only kmh on display, those are for Asia market - those are HISS keys. Btw, Asia market bikes are power limited.

Not to worry mate, I have some transponder chips spare. Do you want me to send you one? All you have to do is pop the chip in the key behind the plastic Honda logo and you're all done and ready for programming.
