Media blasting

Has any one tried using soda (from soda blasting (baking soda)) in there sand blasting cabinet? I know the soda brakes down, but I'd like to get a little more life out of it before I trash it.

FWIW soda is great for cleaning plastic bits and excellent on paint removal.

I've never used it myself, but I understand it's very gentle on parts, and doesn't result in much dimensional loss, as compared to other media.

Walnut shells too (finer grades).

Nitro, I have a friend who has a soda blaster, and he has a small sand blasting cabinet from Harbor Freight, that he uses the soda blaster in. No real mess, and does very well on small parts. The blaster sits on the outside and he runs the nozzle into the cabinet thru a hole in the cabinet.
