I am sure most of you are members of sport-touring.net and already know this - but they are having thier National Meet this year in Montrose Colorado. Thats MY BACKYARD! well 370 miles away anyway. I went to the first ST.N meet in South Dakota and just had a blast, froze my butt off in that cold rain but had fun meeting the 50 plus group that showed up.

I thought I would put out the word to anybody intrested in comming to this rally.

all these places are within 2 hours ride, streets & trips file

There are some great rides around Montrose for this years ST.N meet. Some of Colorado's best riding is along the Western slope

The Black Canyon
The Million Dollar Highway
The Silver Thread Loop
Slumgullion, Lake City to Creede
Cotchetopa Canyon
The Grand Mesa
The Uranium Highway
and More, of course Utah, New Mexico and the four corners is wide open too.

I have video of most these Places

Yeah, other Canucks on the board !!! Any of you members of ONVFR or Club VFR Qubec (Corbeau, a sonne pas mal franais...)

Did a trip out on the West Coast 2 years back... Took me exactly 3 days to get from Denver CO to Montreal PQ, along HW 70 through St-Louis (slept there on the first of 3 nights), then up HW86 IIRC to Syracuse (second stop for one night), and I then crossed into Canada in Kingston to head home in Montreal.

3 days of a blistering heatwave (close to 38 celsius all the time) and nothing but straight roads... good thing I didn't me any Highway Patrol !!!

Anyhow, you enjoy your trip !!! I sure did mine... 15000 kms in 3 weeks (actually, about 2 weeks driving, the rest visitin'...), Yosemite, San Fran, Death Valley, Grand Canyon & Bryce Canyon, Arches Ntnl Park.... I'd go back any day !!!

Cheers,
P.O.

Thanks Slammer for the video :)

Now on cold and rainy days I can watch that, and pretend it's me out riding

Sorry for the thread-jack, 'Slammer, but I have to reply to P.O. ;)
Yeah, ONVFR lister here. Jean-Franois' my real name, I was born in MTL... When I take possession of my VFR, I'll probably get in touch with the Club VFR du Qubec, Outaouais chapter. Probably won't rally with them, as I'm fairly booked this summer* and I don't want Ms. Corbeau to have her lawyer on speed dial...
* Planned out-of-town, multi-day rides: Parry Sound Sportbike Rally, ST-N National, ESTN in Vermont, C5, WDGAH 8 maybe, "get there check it out 10 minutes and come back" to either Americade or Laconia... Give me a second, I'll start a topic on this...
