Took a short ride this afternoon and was rewarded once again by being in the right place at the right time.

Like the guy in the Gateway commercials says "You're sooo lucky!"
Is that Mt. St. Helens in the background?
#6
Nice, but having lived in Washington already, it doesn't beat this...

Mendenhall Glacier...Juneau, AK. And yes, this literally is my backyard. My dog and I walk along the river nearly every day.

Both very nice pics! Haven't been to Mt. St. Helens, but I have been to Mendenhall Glacier - absolutely beautiful!!

I'm not going to lie to you. As soon as this tour is over, I'll give anything to get to Washington. The fishing is nice here, but the wife can't stand the isolation. The only capital city that can't be driven to from another town. Its either boat, or Alaska Airlines.

Ya, I'm ready for a change...and more roads to ride the bike.

God bless the lower 48.

Well Mt St Helens is pretty awesome but the best vocanic eruption i have seen was Mt Pavlov on the Alaska peninsula when it erupted in the late 70's. Shot lava out of the summit seveal hundred feet into the air and the flow eventually made it to the bay. Didnt get to see St Helens go off but I heard it. I was in Everett at the time. Didnt know what the booms were until a Canadien radio station reported it. Steve

Wow! Beautiful, nice picture. And that big hill in the background is cool, too.

Nice pic. Maybe you should stand a little further back? Looks like a pimple ready to pop.

Hey Sunline,

If I was voting you would be getting a new set of tires!!!

I use to live in Portland, OR and visited Mt St. Helens several times. That is an incredibly clear day.

Nice work and enjoy those new tires!!!!

Ya, this one is also. I figure its time for another ice age in the next ten thousand years or so.

I would get the picture with the bike entered, but even If I did, the contest is only for lower 48ers. Slammer can't ship them to AK.

Oh well. :wheel:

Nice pics. All that's in my yard is a picnic table, grill, a lemon tree, and some other smaller fruit trees. Flowers, weeds and grass. Gotta go a few miles for the mountains. :D
