If any Ontario members want to get together for a ride this Sunday - March 27th, let me know. Depending on who is coming, a good meeting point will be determined. Right now, I'd suggest meeting in the Milton area. Dude - you're the farthest north - maybe after we meet in Milton, we could ride up to the FOrks of the Credit - and meet you there?

CBAR - I am not trying to tick off the Weather Gods - just need a sanity break.

your braver that I am. I haven't even started mine up yet. I'd like at least a couple good rains for the roads first. guess i'm a wussy. The only month that I didn't ride last year though was February.
#3
No problemo Ken!!

I can't make it - my baby gets stored 3 hours North of here, in Owen Sound! So I need a little more stable weather before I can make the trip home and pick her up!

Man i hate to decline but there is way too much crap on the roads for this ol guy. I will definetly be up for more than a few good group rides with the fellow vfrd guys/gals for sure this year.

If I leave now, I can be at the border in about 3 1/2 hours, should get through by 5pm, then another 10 hours straight through to Nashville....... crap - can't do that - it would be too late for wings and beer... maybe i'll rent a street cleaner, and just drive around up here promoting the riders to get out :goofy:

Prince's Hot and Spicy stays open until 5a.m. and you gain an hour since we are in the Central Time Zone. Come on down.

gonna do one better - I stole a zamboni from the local arena, using my retractable license plate gizmo, (which i learned about while visiting VFRD at work) and because I got so worked up about scantily clad women (on VFRD) i popped a wheelie and need to find something productive to do - so will give a really good cleaning to the streets!!!
#13
I am going to go out this weekend puttsing aournd here & there but just getting used to the bike until some big rains clean the streets.

#14
My bikes in storage and I to am a bit of a wuss when it comes to the salted/graveled roads. But when spring is finally here I'll definitely be in

Hey Ken, I think I'm out as well this weekend, sane deal on crap on roads! Still have to VFR-cross n\mine up from the basement to front up the stairs outside, when the ice is clear!

Cheers,
Bill

GOod to see responses from you guys! I guess once again, I was premature - oops wrong thread- :joystick: but will keep trying to get a ride organized once the real weather and cleaner roads show up.

Billr - I want you to post a video of you Motocrossing your Viffer up the side steps of your house - it would be worth it for everyone to see how versatile this machine is!! :goofy:

I know there are more Ontario members lurking - which has raised the hopes of a FLAF passing event in Southern Ontario!

#19
count me in when the snow melts and roads are clear ,not much fun replacing plastic due to stuff happening on the roads .I have lots of southern ont roads at my backdoor to explore if and when spring arrives and would help set up a meet ,maybe with our friends at the BMW rally held close by

SOunds like there are at least 8 of us in reasonable proximity - I know there are a couple others (from the ONT VFR site) that would also likely partake. DO a dance to the weather gods, whatever it takes - come on SPRING!!! I bet we could get a dozen Viffers together - this might turn into a PARTY - which is also cool!!

 Definetly looking forward to that party !!!!! Oh and of course all our southern neighbors are more than welcome!!!!!!!

Dang: Wish I lived closer. Sigh, have fun anyway. :(

Hey Bob

Maybe we can get a mid -ontario meet going. My son has accepted a scholarship at the University Of Ottawa for next year so i'm looking for some good biking roads in your area when I go to visit. If you know of any let me know ok? Thx

Sure. There is a very popular highway a pieve north of Perth on highway 511 near Calaboguie (sp?). It is very popular amongst the local sportbikers and cruisers alike. It is about 7-10 miles of good twisties and some other roads west of Calaboguie too.

Let me know when you head this way and will gladly have run with you. From what I remember, you are close to my age too. I am nearly 53.
#25
I absolutely agree - any and all Southern neighbours are welcome!! Bob - don't sweat it about being in Ottawa - you've probably got more twisties in your area to choose from than us near Toronto.

I was just hoping to hook up a last minute ride for this weekend. I'd love to help set up a meet more out your way, and just plan for the time needed.

I know the ONT VFR group are heading to Sharbot Lake in August - lots of great roads (just north of Tweed I believe). THere's nothing saying we can't try to get a Mid Ontario meet going - pick a date, find a mtg, party, sleeping place - and let everyone here know about the date.

Just think of the FLAFFING possibilities!!!!

I am just returning from vacation on the Saturday afternoon, so I don't know that I can get to any of C5 or not. Does it extend into much of Sunday or does everyone head home quickly on Sun morning?

Don't know - I assumed that it was over by Sunday morning - if I go, I'll be heading out first thing Sunday. I'll PM you if I find out anything more. Just looking into accomodations now - seems to be slim picking s around there.

Ken keep me in mind if you would. i'm out for this weekend as my bike is going on the trailer Saturday to probably go under the knife. I called the dealer about my engine rattling problem and he suspects the cam chains also. but he did offer to pick it up get started on it to have it back soon before they get real busy. some people still know what customer service is all about. (Mid-City Honda London Ont.) when she comes home ill be sure meet with the ontario contingent of VFR riders.

be safe and bundle up Sunday!

Keep your eyes peeled for a group ride - I need to have some fun - and will do all I can to help it to happen.
