Anyone up for Portland to Mount St. Helens?

I was thinking about doing the Rose City 250 on Sunday, but I don't think I'm going to make it.

Tomorrow (Saturday 4/2) looks like not too much rain, and I was thinking about doing the Mount St. Helens ride.

Portland to Castle Rock via I-5, then 504 up to the Johnston Ridge Visitor Center at the end of the road. I haven't been up there since I had my last bike 12 years ago.

Roughly 230 mile round trip from Portland, about 4-5 hours riding time, plus stopping for lunch somewhere and maybe the visitor center(s) for a bit. I don't want to spend too much time at them though.

Anyone interested?

I'll be leaving around 9 or so. Let me know and we can finalize stuff.

Would love to join you but I don't live in Portland anymore. But I do have a suggestion for lunch. Stop at the 19 mile house on 504 on your way to the Johnston Ridge Observatory. I highly recommend the Mt. St. Helens burger. The resturaunt is ( :joystick: ) 19 miles from Mt. St Helens on the left hand side.

Well, I was informed on a different site that the Johnston Visitor center is closed off until after May anyway.

That's ok, because I realized I've never been there. I thought the Coldwater Ridge visitor center was the end of the road, so I won't be missing anything. :D

I'll go all the way to the end this summer sometime, but for now this will do.

Anyone know what to expect for temperatures during the day? I'm guessing lows around 40-45.

Oregonian checking in but can't make it this time. I am down next time for sure when the weather is better!

I wonder if Windy Ridge will be open this sumer? Maybe it's too close to the blast zone?
