I have had about enough of riding my computer after suffering a broken pelvis for the last month. After getting the green light to return to work from the Doc, my Xrays showed no displacement, I thought the Viffer needs some love!

I had a crappy ride up the interstate to Denver, my butt hurt too, the seat is just a bit too hard, which I remedied by replacing a hip pad to my backside where I can sit on it. You know the interstate drill, bumper to bumper, cagers pull out infront of you as you advance, even a squidly guy on a CBR managed to peeve me off.


There was a guy on the interstate in squid gear, Jeans and JR jacket, backpack, and looked like he had on batting gloves. Hes doing 60 in the fast lane - I was doing 80 the whole way up and so I moved to the other lane and passed him. He did not like that so he sped up and got about 5 feet behind me, when he couldnt pass in the other lane because of cars he just passed me in my lane. I gave him the finger. Jackass PICK A SPEED and PICK A LANE!!

Its a Cannon ZR300 that comes with a wide angle lens addon in the box, worked great in wide angle mode. I have a ram mount with an 8 inch arm, camera mount 1 inch ball thats needs to be filed down a bit cause the screw is too long. The camera would whobble when I got on the gas!

I love your vids HS, always have. But the music... God help us the music... I feel like I'm riding in an elevator :goofy:

There were a couple of times I just had to lay back and wait till a passing zone cause to follow would have had me in trouble. A bike was comming in the other lane when I was in the middle of a pass, he looked farther away then he really was so I ducked in between a couple of cars to get the hell out of the way. Actually most of the folks pulled out for us, parts I edited out in the video,

I was surprized by a couple of bicyclist and had to make a quick jog to the left , trying to ride staggered when close but when there are petal pushers on the same road you have to give way. I ride bikes too so Its a good thing to be out riding motor or not!

Sorry Robert if you had a funky name like mine I would have remembered it! I will fix that. You never posted on ST.N so I did not even have a screen name to refer too. Glad to meet ya and hopefully we will have another good ride on Memorial day!

Some rather incriminating evidence there Slammer. I give a "pucker factor" 8 out of 10 to that Goldwing encounter? Nice ride though. Nice to know the sun is out somewhere in the world.

Keep the 30th open for the ride to RMNP, meet us at 10:00 am in Morrison or 11:30 in Nederland. Monday 30th memorial day over Trail Ridge and through the park. Lots of riders comming.

Hey Miguel - Awsome video I'm jealous! I'm a guitar head and i have almost every thing by Pat and the boys.

About the video, looks like you guys are riding about 3-5/10 pace with lots of margin for error, a safe way to ride. Is that the case? Have you discovered any way to eliminate that secondary windshield reflection? One last question, any tricks to actuating the camera with gloves on at speed?

Yes the cameras easy operate. The "Pace" yea that was the ride tone. I mean I could catch up in no time when I got held up by a cage. The road had some gravel in the turns too so it was best.

The pace was perfect given the occasional spots of gravel. We pretty much took a pace that allowed us to easily react to the changing road surface. It was a good ride and no "uncomfortable" moments.

HS... I liked the second video. I have never ridden the Central City Parkway, and I now know where I am headed after work tomorrow. :)

Robert (aka Jeff) be warned there are some sneeky tight turns that will have you hard on the brakes after a long strait, then they spiral tighter and tighter at the ends of both sides. It is a blast, but there was some sand in the center section on the south side.

My Aunt lives on the west side of the springs, I try and visit every summer. Everytime I head west of town I always wish I was on a bike instead of a rental car!

Do you still like your Pilot Roads? Any cupping at all? Good mileage?

I DO ENJOY THE MOVIES! Excellent work Slammer on creating these cool flicks. I also like the Jazz, but prefer engine music over anything! I'm hoping to place a sweet camera setup on my new ride, possibly front and rear, but definitely front with rear mounted microphone.

On to another note, Golden Gate is ALWAYS an awesome ride, but gravel is generaly prevelant. It's nice to head to the top of Golden Gate in the summer to get to the cool weather...at least 15-20 degrees less than the city! I haven't had too many problems with cagers on this route, and definitely no problems at all on the Peak to Peak, but let's not get into details about the cagers on CO-72 west of Denver and north of Golden Gate Canyon...ASS HOLES!

Slammer, I would love to meet up with you guys sometime, please let me know how I can keep in touch. I will be in Denver this weekend, possibly available Monday for riding through the park! Anyway, I'm very interested in what program you used to create that map of the route, and do you pay for keyhole.com ($30 subscription); it seems to be a nice service for planning trips!
