What is your fastest speed?

Went to 224 km/h with Givi saddlebags mounted... probably wind in my back. My speed-o-meter indicates 3 km/m more than the radar...

I found a nice stretch of empty rode and decided to see what my VFR could do. Topped out at 10500 RPMs in sixth. I figure that's about 147 MPH. Probably will never do it again.

Early morning across a flat piece of Interstate on my way to work. Redline in 6th. My speedo said a tick over 155MPH. Probably a true 140-145. Been there done that, don't need to go back. The lane gets pretty narrow at that speed. WOW.

230km/h indicated.

Got up to 115 and backed off. I was afraid of getting pulled over and hauled off to jail.... blink.gif

Saw an indicated 150mph on a clear stretch on Interstate.

Indicated 250kmh on 3 separate rides on my 86 and there was more coming. fing02.gif

Indicated 140 on a straight stretch of road in northern MI...please don't tell my wife!

wheel.gif Hit 142 mph on the straightaway stretch on the road next to Phoenix International Raceway. Got discouraged when I hit a couple of dips in the road that seemed to look much less steep and much longer when doing the 45 mph speed limit.

162 indicated. 150 GPS.

I don't want to test my speedo accuracy via Radar. Indicated 165, probably < 150. goofy.gif

Had my bike up to 232km once with lots of throttle left.Once was enough for me.

I've seen 150 mph on the speedometer a few times. It was on a new stretch of US 380 and there was no more to be had. The bike was solid and the pucker factor was sucking up my saddle!

Mr.RC45 will do 90 mph in 1st and tops out in at 157mph in 6th for real... it gains top speed real quick thanks to:

low weight of 435lb...
quick spooling up of the titanium rods...
close ratio gear box...

Oh and it doesn't hurt to have a 1/4 turn quick throttle...

The CBR954 is supposed to top out north of 160 I think. My temporary insanity has not yet lasted quite long enough to get all the way there. Those last 2 or 3,000 RPM's to redline are real, uh, "busy". Know what I'm saying? wheel.gif

The VFR is a little less vivid in it's power delivery. Easier to handle. biggrin.gif

I suppose it all depends on how your rating yourself, by actuall speed or by speedo indicated speed... I have had my speedo read at 170 and change. A few weeks later I put it on the dyno. While on the dyno, my speedo was showing 169 or 170 but the dyno reading show 150 exactly at that very moment. Also while on the dyno we go t the actuall speed up to 170 however quit running it because it was not making more power, although holding steady power fairly well. It was slightly dropping but the guy running the dyno said he would guess it would be good for about 190 before hitting the rev limiter with absolutly no wind or a slight tail wind. I don't know as I will NEVER go that fast. It was very stable while going 170(really 150) but there is no need for that kind of speed!!! Just had to see what it was capable of after I bought it. Time to re-gear it to get a bit more bottom end out of it and drop the top speed down around say 150 rather than 190-ish, projected!!! It did make 103.7 ponies on the rear wheel and 73.3 lb/ft. with the Two Bros. Pipe and stock everything else. Now with the K&N filter and Power Commander should be a bit greater. I hope!!! I know that "busy" part of the power band... there never seems enough out on the track... you got a track day planned for a little Niner Five Four insanity???

There are radars besides road work area sometimes; thanks I haven't been caught by the police at 224 km/h but I met one a few kilometers farther fing02.gif

132 MPH early last sunday morning on I-55. It felt more stable than a HD at 65 MPH. I don't think I'll take it up to that speed again, but I wanted to know how it felt to go that fast.

ı saw 250km on my bike.
on saturday ı have met another vfr he declared that he saw 280 ı dont know if ı have to believe in him or not.ı think maximum we can see is 270

196 on a Busa from Questa NM to San Luis Colorado. The road was a blur, I had to get rid of that Busa!!

Lol, I bet ! I wonder myself about another CBR...saw 165 on it although not sure my speedo error had been fixed as they were recalled for a 25% (?) low error and I had hit a brick wall, would not go faster, CBR pals told me I was probably doing 180+, I don't know.

VFR sees 155 all the time but with 1 tooth less and known high reading on them I was probably 15 % less than that so 140 ish and that matches mag specs and known hp level of this bike. Ain't no way in hell a VFR is going to go 160.

Agreed BLS...NFW, that would mean the peak torque hp level was higher than the peak power, about 111 at that torque level.

Did 156 on a runway here in central Ohio. I have a black box on it, so I know I was really doing 156. Have -1 up front, powercommander, k&n and Laser pipes.
Also seen 155 on the outerbelt of Columbus and had it up to 157 on a drag dyno. That was on a 3/4 mile run. This is plenty fast enough for me. My friends all ride R1's and Gixxer 1000's, but after 200 miles they all want to stop, while I just getting started. Oh and it's red, which everybody knows red ones are just a little faster. goofy.gif

I saw 166 on my 954 and I still had a little throttle left, but no road left. Haven't done that in a while though.

Last weekend I saw 156. Empty two lane highway in the middle of Nowhere, Ohio. It's my new favorite number. This was following a "spirited" ride down my favorite hidden twisty highway where I hit 125 at times. I was literally laughing out loud in my helmet like a day-old former virgin. At the end of the road I headed back home and thought, "What the hell? Let 'er rip." Wheelied just outside of town and kept going. I realize there's some speedo error and all but, hell, I actually saw 156. Good enough for me! By the way, it's the fastest I've ever moved, barring airplanes! I am absolutely in love with this bike. Don't tell my wife. Never mind. She already knows!
