More video from my 3,000 mile trip to Montana last July, this is the Vaunted Beartooth Pass on the boarder between Wyoming and Montana. It was rather bumpy at the top and smooth at the bottom, I had planned to ride the entire distance of it to Redlodge but it was closed on the Montana side due to landslide. I had to turn around at the top, the video is the way down and into the Gateway of Yellowstone National Park - Cooke City Montana hwy 212. Too bad I figure the best part was the Montana Side.

Slammer, I have been over the same route on four wheels, brings back great memories. I would love to find the time for a return trip on two. ?being from Colo. how many close encounters have you had with the local wildlife and domestic animals on the road? Great flick to have in your library and to share with the group. Thanks.
Slammer, nice video and thanks for the gdb. I'm going to be at the HSTA annual event in AVON, CO this summer and hope to get up there. Did you by any chance have your tracking running when you did the pass. A track cookie crumbs on the gdb would allow us to see the vertical profile of the route as well. Bet there are a lot of ups and downs!
Since I moved to Billings Dec 1st I've driven my car as far as I could up the beartooth twice. I live 1 hour from red lodge and they have it gated 12 miles south of there (road is open from late may to oct). I really cant wait to ride it. When I stop and take a look at the gate I can't even picture how its possible that a road could go any further, the mountains go straight up on all sides. I'll probably wear depends my first few times I ride it.
Cool video Miguel! Since the road was closed at the top, where were those two cars going that you first passed? There was quite a few cars heading the opposite way, so I imagine when the road is open that the cage traffic might be crappy. Gorgeous area to say the least!
Hey Johnny, there were a couple of lakes at the top where folks were out fishing. I saw lots of RV's up there camping and fishing. Where the elevation says 9843 by the Buena Vista Campground lable of the topo map. You can see the lake there.
Just got my FIOS set up, first video I wathced. Man I can not beleive how much faster than DSL FIOS is. 5 Mbps I think is what the guy said.
Any way what used to take several minutes to down load before I could watch now starts playing in a matter of seconds. Pretty Cool.
FIOS is Verizon's Fiber Optic network. They have been tearing up srteets in and around town for the last 6 months. I guess it is going to be worth it. t least when it comes to streaming Video on VFRDiscussion!
I can confirm for you that the Montana side is indeed the best side. It was fun even riding it in near freezing weather in the rain although my girlfriend didn't think so. The guy I was with mentioned it was the closest thing to a twisty French Alps road he's ever found in America.
