All I can say is this meet turned out Fantastic ! We had great turnout, great people, great weather(cool mornings) fantastic roads and one great time IMO.
I was pretty stressed trying to get this all planed and pulled off, but with such a great group of guys(& gals) and there help, it was pulled off very well with no real mishaps.

I will try to do some write-ups over the next few days and any and all attenders are welcome to add their own pic's, write-ups, thoughts, etc. to it.

The TexasMac story:
Bruce had bought a shinny new 03 Silver VFR in Texas were he lived and he loved it. He and his wife were planning on visiting family both in Atlanta and FL during the X-Mas holidays. Bruce had heard of all the great roads in the area of Deals Gap (NC/TN) and posted on VFRD if it might be possible to ride the area that time of year (Dec.) myself and several other's responded with a yes and an offer to meet up with Bruce. He dropped of his wife and truck off outside Atlanta and road up to Robbinsville, NC in 20 deg. weather to meet Mancow(Gary) and myself on Friday Dec. 26th. After thawing for a short time the 3 of us took off for a few hundred miles of riding. Gary (Mancow) headed home and Ray(Red Rider) came in to ride Sat. with Bruce and I. Ray, Bruce and I Sat. around sharing stories and a few beers in the room that Bruce and I shard that night at the Microtel.
The next morning after a good breakfast we headed out again on the same route we ran the day before with me in lead, then Bruce and Ray in trail. I was watching Ray in my mirrors as we road because I had never ridden with him before and Bruce proved himself the day before as a skilled rider. We road 129 up to the Cross Roads of Time store then down 28 just past Fontana Village into a tight set of 15-20 mph twisties. I guess Bruce just slightly missed judged the turn and was running off the edge of the road about a foot and was maybe 20-30 feet from being able to steer right back on the road when the bike caught something in the hillside. This caused the bike to flip sending Bruce to the ground face down, the bike climbed the side of the hill and came back down on Bruce's head. I think he died instantly. This was a very freak accident to have taken his life, but it happened.
That is the short of TexasMac accident. It has been a while and many newer member's were asking about TexasMac so I though I would re-share the story.
We had the TexasMac Cross Raising event in late April 2004. Keith aka Ponrod offered to make this awesome cross after hearing about the loss of a fellow VFRD member on Dec. 27th, 2003 and he had never meet or talked to Bruce(TexasMac) before.
Many members and a few spouses joined Red Ridder(Ray) & myself to place this cross at the site and pay or respects to Bruce(TexasMac). This event along with every TexasMac Annual Meet were completely unforgetable events that will always hold a place in my mind and heart. The grace, friendship, support, prayers, words, etc., that came from so many members here has forever locked me into this marvelous family we know as VFRD.
I want to thank everyone for every thought, word, hand, prayer and help offered or given at, during, for any one the Events in memory of TexasMac. Thank you all.
I only wish that the original "Cross Raising for TexasMac" post would not have been lost in the site crash of 04, it had hundreds of amazing post from everyone including members of Bruce's family. They too found healing and understanding of Bruce's passion that gave them much more peace and closure than they could have gotten otherwise.
