Northern Ontario - Just a taste......

Here is a taste of what we have happenning in Northern Ontario this weekend.

CBAR, DUDE, MCREW, TBZEP, JOHNE, and myself are having a great time in the SAult Ste Marie area

More pics and ride reports next week when we get back to civilization!!

Today we rode a highway called 129, north of Thessalon.

Wildlife update - Bambi decided to jump out in front of Johne, with me following - and was trying to get traction to get off the roadway. Luckily she did, and made it off the road in time for us to truck on through without incident.

TBZEP and I were hotfooting ahead of the other guys, and we missed seeing Smokey the Bear. A black bear was crossing the road in front of MCREW, Dude, and Johne - he apparently stopped to stare them down - MCREW looked back into his eyes - and the bear ran away wimpering......... Chuck NOrris has nothing on Crew...

TOmorrow we head back to civilization. More pics later this week.

EDIT - here is one of the reasons that Dude got treated especially good on the way up.....

In hindsight I'm not so sure 600 miles in one day on a VFR with stock seat and no throttle lock was such a good idea! blink.gif I'll be standing at work today. wink.gif

laugh.gif I haven't heard (or seen) that in a long time. It makes me wonder if somebody tried a reach-around on a moose. Moose-y punch just doesn't sound as good as the original, though.

Great pics guys. Looks like it was a good time. I wish we could do that in Indiana, but three trees, one hill, and no curves makes for sheer boredom!

I'm back to work, and I'm also pretty much fully asleep as I sit here. Ended up with 2200 Kilometres on teh ticker. Not sure how much Plexus I ran through, or how many times I had to scrape off the shield - but at least it wasn't Moose meat we were cleaning up!! tongue.gif

Why so I feel like I'm still moving.......

I'll post up some more of my pic's tonight - haven't had a chance to get to them.

Its funny what a small world this is - we were at a TIm Hortons in Espanola - and a guy in a big blue pickup truck pulls up to us. Al he says is "VFR Discussion ?" And it turns out its Smitty from London. He figured that that many VFR's in one place MUST have something to do with VFRD.

Dennis - you're most welcome to come with us down to Tennessee - you can help me erase the chicken strips - and distract CBAR as I lop off that damn fender. It was actually a shade provider for 3 of us when the sun was at high noon!!!

Not likely to happen this summer. Its already flying by, and I've used up some serious day passes. Not to mention the fact that fuel to trailer down might require a second mortgage.

We were hashing around the idea of a group trip to Tennessee - but can't quite figure out how to pull it off. 3.gif (I figured the Deer was appropriate to use here). goofy.gif

I guess the USA / CA relations aren't what they used to be...

That reminds me of a high school bud who, after a few drinks, would invariably take slight at our ribbing, get all pissed off, and come out with that line....

Nice ride ! I'm probably going there thursday-sunday, since it's probably gonna rain in Lake George...

The southern section of 129 along the river is on of the best sections of twisties around. I'm jelous. Looks like a great ride.
