From the Middle Coast:

SR33 - SE of LaCrosse, WI - smooth sweepers with excellent site lines then tight twisties the variety. 30 miles

CR P - SE of LaCrosse, WI - 20 miles

CR Q - Tremealeau County, WI - excellent curves, pavement, sight lines, and runoff.

SR123 SE of Jasper, AR - New pavement, no traffic, no side roads, linked "marked 15-30 mph" curves one after another.

SR341 N of Fifty Six, AR - Best road I've been one anywhere. See description of
SR123 only better.

SR125 Rueter, MO - can you say endless tight and banked curves for 20 miles?

SR16 across NW Arkansas - 90 miles of nice curves and nice pavement.

Maybe some day I'll have close to Slammers inventory fing02.gif

Yep......those plus Tennessee 68 and Georgia 60. Also, blood Mountain in Georgia is memorable.

Palomar Mountain (highway 78) - CA
Montezuma Grade (between Ranchita and the Borrego Desert) - CA
Highland Valley Road (Escondido) - CA
Ortega Highway (highway 74)
Julian (highway 79 I think?) - CA

All of those are SoCal, most of those (besides the Ortega Highway) can be hit up in the same trip because they are in the same area.
#10
How come no one ever mentions 190 out of Springville/Porterville CA?? LOTS of turning to be done there.
Westguard Pass (south of Bishop CA) is 2 minutes from my front door. 26 miles round trip and I'm grinning for hours after.
#11
Adelaide to Lobethal, South Australia
Bull's Creek road, Meadows to Goolwa, South Australia
Willunga to Cape Jervois, South Australia
Oxley Hwy, Port Macquarie to Walcha, New South Wales
Puquio to Abancay to Anta, Peru
#12
Okay, okay I'll cough up these two well-known beauties:

Oregon 53 between highways 26 and 101
Washington 503 to NFD 25 to Windy Ridge on Mount St. Helens
#13
Well, my list is short, but I see MO has some to offer already...

HWY 63 south of Jeff(erson) City for the highspeed twisties

C Highway in Newhaven for the "slow" speed technical stuff.

OK, no fair. I am moving to Rolla, MO this fall and I can't find this on the map. What side of the Mark Twain do you enter from?

If I have to I will offer room and board to show me good rides near to my new home.

Uh, aren't you the one complaining about NOT riding enough in the Northern Ontario thread? I wish I had ridden half those roads...I have to slab it for hours to find anything even resembling twisties...lucky bastard!
#16
Another check in from Middle Coast:

Not great for pure twisties but I have to submit:
HWY 61 up the north shore of Lake Superior in MN is a wonderful ride.

For enjoyable twisties with a rather wet run off:
HWY 38 through the Chippewa National Forest north of Grand Rapids, MN.

I am jumping in with Lobster. I hate all of you guys that have roads like that anywhere near you to ride. tongue.gif

Around here we have to find little spots that have 5-6 curves in them, and pray that minvans and gravel aren't in the road while chipmunks are trying to cross. Lobster knows that I mean, laugh.gif

And, does my driveway count as a great road? I at least get to see my kids when I get down to the end of it.

Around here we have spots where you can at least get a few minutes of fun in, after you take half an hour to drive where they are. But, for just scenic pleasure, you can't beat the "Tp of the Thumb" and take a ride on M25 along the east shore of MI and up around with a lake view.

Later,
Jeff

My two favouritest roads so far are the road from Coromandel to Whitianga to Kopu, and the back road between Russell and Whangarei.
But I still really enjoy the western side of the Kaimai Ranges summit road, heading east.
