Installing givi wingrack on 94-97

Perhaps this should be under the mods section, but luggage seemed appropriate.

I am finally getting around to installing a wingrack 2 (and a hugger) on my 1995. I have the rear cowling off and am ready to roll. Any tips for me before I start cutting?

I perused a FAQ on Texas VFR garage, and it mentions using a drill and hacksaw (!!!) to alter the plastic. I assume it is just a little hole for the one bracket. Anyone else do this? Is it noticeable when you take them off?

I will be installing a Wingrack 1 very soon, but I ordered the Y154 mounting kit, to go with my 95 VFR. I 'should' just be a matter of taking off the passenger handhelds, and slide on 2 parts from the mounting kit. These along with the two rods (which go down to the passengers footrests) should do the trick. When I have the mounting kit, I will make some digital photographs and post them in this topic.

I have the setup almost done, the cutting of plastic mentioned was just part of the inner fender. It is fairly easy to install, just sort of fiddly, since I bought this setup used.

I was wrong about the instructions, it was in the VFR mailing list archives, not Texas VFR garage.

Got the wingrack installed, was easy once I found all the bolts.

While the plastic was off, I installed a hugger, got ride of the ugly brake fluid, and trimmed the fender and rtemoved the decals.

I had a nice 359 km test on Monday and they worked well and are very convenient. I think I will like them. I have a couple of long trips planned this summer and they should help a lot.

Installed the Wingrack 1 today, piece of cake ! Check this link for some pictures. I didn't have to cut away fairings or anything, only the pins of the steps of the duo had to be replaced by the (by GIVI delivered) bolts.
