I guess that I should have been more specific. I posted the email in a brand new 'DOWN UNDER' forum and I happened to be the first and not an Aussie or someone from N.Z. Course, they were probable sleeping when this forum was born.

Down under in the USA, you prolly don't want to hear about. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/blink.gif)

Heh, he's on the wrong end of the island for that. Sort of like you wanting someone in California to go for a ride in Florida.

hmmm, we have our own little topic here eh? I must admit I've been jabbering away in so many other topics that I missed this.

Ok,so on the 9-14th of FEB, OzVFR and various hangers-on have a BIG ride around the twistiest parts of NSW and VIC, in the Snowy Mountains of Horse-trailer. So named "snowy" coz they have snow in the Winter. We're clever like that.

Listers from this site Me, zRoYz, Kirbster, Gingle and about 20 others will be attending, so I'll do a write up and picture gallery soon...expect to see a special FrankenBike portrait (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/smile.gif) my 99 VFRSP2, Roy's VTEC-SP, and a CBR1100XXSP1.

Damn Aussies, getting summer all winter. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/biggrin.gif) Ahh, now I wish I had just defected while I was in Darwin.

'Bout time you laddies got a section of your own.

AND, OZ is the home of Staintunes. Put mine on last year and I'm very happy with the looks and the sound. Just a bonus that I purchased via the VFR Group buy and save big $$, too! IMO Ozzies should have your own forum just 'cause of Staintunes.

How about a few pics of a transplanted Canuck riding around Perth?

Here's me on the Serpentine Dam - a damn big dam, if you ask me (we don't have many dams in Ontario...we've got some big locks, but not many dams). Yes, I am wearing full textile Joe Rocket gear...silly Canadian. You can't see them, but my nuts are on the road at my feet - by that time I had literally sweated them off.

And here's me, thumbing my nose at The Man's sign about not stopping on that piece of road. What can I say - I'm gangsta like dat. If that doesn't get me deported I don't know what will.

When did they get around to building the transpacific bridge?? I didn't know, they treat me like a mushroom over here...

Now I'm feelin' homesick. Last time I went back down under I had been away for so long I felt like a tourist in my own country (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/blink.gif) You wouldn't read about it!!

Thanks for that link Muz, I'd forgotten parts of that trip, but not the dam-busting, AB style:

"While we're doing this, the unmistakable roar of a V4 comes down the road from the opposite direction. It's Chris! We'd been running a bit late due to the other accidents and he's taken off down the road to come find us. About this point we all realise it's really hot, so Adam strips off and jumps off the dam wall into the dam. That's about a 20 metre drop to you and I! Sharon got some photos, but I wasn't quick enough to get them. As he's crawling out of the very cold water (it's snow run-off water) myself and Chris meander on to Cabramurra in search of a bite to eat and a catch up chat. Lunch (meat pies!) and a glue-up session for my boot follows."

Funny thing was Justin says to me after, (very seriously) "I dont think you're supposed to swim in the catchment area AB"
AB "Yep, and you're not supposed to be doing twice the posted speed limit" (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/smile.gif)

LOL,

Unfortunately I missed your epic dam jump... I'd gone looking for Kev somewhere over the Victorian border, then was solo for the run up to Cabramurra. Had a lot of fun!

Unfortunately the other ride reports from the 2002 Snowy Ride disappeared in an OzVFR site revamp, I'll ask metal admin if he can dig them out. The pics from 2002 can be seen at this link although I'm not sure if you need to be an OzVFR member to access it:
