Hi guys!

The Flaf has made it's first (I think) ever journey down under, and any Aussies that would like to sign it are invited to do so in Melbourne.

I'm still in the rehab centre, so I was thinking of having a 'Flaf signing BBQ' here if possible...
Also I'm not sure if there is much of an Aussie contingent, and we're quite likely to be spread out all over the country, so I may have to eat ALL the snags, sign it myself and ship it off again!

*does a little dance*

Anyway, if you are in Victoria, or are going to be (in the relatively near future), let me know of some possible dates that might suit, as it needs to be sent back for the texasmac thingy... (did I say that right?)

I was thinking maybe 10th or 17th of March??

whens the texas-mac ride again?

Can the flaf be sent to me after your peeps are finished with it Lenna? I can probably herd about 20 OzVFR to sign a section of it... then send it back to US, unless we've got time for Ian on the East Island to sign and forward it? smile.gif

The Bonang Highway, it's in Victoria. 100km odd of continuous corners.

We usually spell it crikey.

Great to see you starting a post Lenna! fing02.gif

Hope your Spirits are still high! Take advantage of the Flaf being down under and get everyone to sign it and it would be cool if you could host the Flaf party at your place! rolleyes.gif The TexasMac is the first week of May and if the Flaf could be back for it that would be awesome

This pic was taken about 20 mins before I came a-cropper and ended my Snowy2006 ride in an embankment & a tree. Walking away from that was one of the luckiest things I have been through....

Finally, the Flaf made it.... fing02.gif

Does it *still* have the cape attached? unsure.gif

Oh, wow, aubeasty, that sounds like a nasty spill, but you had the better outcome, I hope?

Better keep me in the loop AB, another Bonang run & signing the VFRD Flaf is always going to be better than spending time with the wife 491.gif

Rolling on the floor laughing at that one... GOLD!

Oh shit! I can't get up anymore... shoulda thought of that first unsure.gif

Somebody get me a crane??
#24
Keep it as long as it takes! The Flaf has been to Tmac twice now, it would be cool to get back again but its already been there twice. I would like to see it up in Vancouver for the PNW meet though!! That would be great! CAPE? Last time I saw it the cape was still on, I made fun of it but it was still on! Nobody took it off that I know of? Its just a bed sheet attached it looks like, not annoying like the oil stains on the back? I was wondering which vfrd dolt used it for a shop rag?
#25
My guess is that somebody decided to go for a spin/photo op and it got into the rear of their bike...........

sirimiri, Feb 25 2007, 10:13 PMOh, wow, aubeasty, that sounds like a nasty spill, but you had the better outcome, I hope?
Yes, I was able to walk away from the crash and had about 45 mins to myself before someone came along to help out....the aforementioned 'Pete" from Orbost was an absolute legend and stuck around far longer than would be expected from a stranger! The rest of the guys had alrady gone about 50k's further up the rd and were on the slow-crawl-looking-over-embankments on the way back to find me.....

My only injuries were bruising to my right arm and leg, no broken bones. fing02.gif
#27
So have we come up with any dates yet guys???

Or any (Melbourne) people, for that matter *laughs*

What about North Americans? blink.gif
I'm thinkin' Mailman's got a sweet ride/plane (starlifter?) idea3.gif
He says freedom isn't free, but what's a 'lift and drop' in the Victoria area cost these days???
If our chutes didn't open, could we hang and 'hab with you Lena? comp13.gif
Better get some more 'roo for the barbee... goofy.gif fing02.gif beer.gif

Oh yes, it's well & truly in the planning stages fing02.gif

24th March, this little duck is taking it to Orbost, where, a meeting of the OZVFR clans will be had beer.gif wacko.gif
The next day will involve teaching the Flaf all about what kind of rds are in OZ......hehe

Anybody in Vic wanting to ride north with me??????? We may leave Fri night & overnight in Yaragon..That means only a 400k slab on Sat to Orbost, so we may go further & meet the Canberra/Syd guys!
But, Sunday will be 900km+ trip back via the Bonang & Threadbo. With a nice easy 300k slab to finiish biggrin.gif

Now, Lenna...when do you want to have the BBQ? (PS; I'll drop in Fri)

Hey Lenna!
Would be up for a 17th March visit. Or just to help you eat the snags....

Ok its official, the Flaf will be shown the South side of the planet - the LHS of the road on the Bonang Hwy, on the "road of 1000 corners", on the 24th March downunder time.

Orbost is the COTU on the 24th March smile.gif Hopefully I'll post a video of some of the Bonang Hwy in a couple of weeks...
