left bag cracked
This past Jan I purchased the bags for my 05, just installed them yesterday and noticed the left bag is cracked at the top. Here is a link to the picture. Will find out Monday how DSS is going to handle this??

I've had good service from them, but I would question the shipper first... if the box was not damaged at all, then take it up with DSS.

PS: CHECK YOUR PACKAGE WITHIN 48HRS IF PURCHASING FROM DSS!!!
In Jan of this yr I purchased the bags, the box was not damaged upon receiving the package. So I took it to the basement for a spring install. I live in Ontario Canada. This past Friday I installed the racks then placed the bags, to discover the cracked left bag.
From this response, I bear all cost's and repairs to remedy this problem!!!
How do I handle this reply? Can a lid be purchased and not the whole bag? Can a single bag be purchased??
With duties I have $844.
Here is the response from DSS.
Thank you for your e-mail with the picture showing the small crack on your pannier. I have investiaged the matter to see what can be done. Unfortunately, our carriers insist that any damage claim must be entered within 48 hours of receipt of the parcel. Please see the back of your invoice, where we in turn have listed this under item 6.
The length of time that has elapsed since delivery also does not allow us to question the packer as to how thorough it was checked.
I regret that this is not the resolution that you wish to read, but please understand our situation in this.
Regards
Mark

Well, that's unfortunate. Easiest thing for you to do, is to "v" out the underside(inside) of the crack, then fill the groove with a plastic epoxy, and sand it a bit so it doesn't interfere with the lid closure. Be sure to clean the grooved area with rubbing alcohol before applying the epoxy, to remove any oils, or waxy contaminates brought about by the exposure of "fresh" virgin plastic.
The next step would be to perform the same on the outside of the bag, but then you will be repainting the whole lid... I have not heard of them being available seperately.
Good luck!
