Sw motech luggage rack -- no instructions

I finally received the SW MoTech luggage racks that were recommended by Sally on this forum for my new Givi E41's!  

I need to install them tonight as I'm going on an overnighter Saturday/Sundy this weekend and need the storage space.  But, I notice there are NO instructions   :wow:  for installation!!!  I haven't tried yet ... but I thought I'd post an inquiry before I got started if you have any hints or suggestions, etc. for installation.

If anyone has any PICs of the TABS installed, but the rack removed ... and any other PICs of the SW MoTech Luggage Racks installed on a 02' or 03' VFR, please post them here or email them to woodcycl@insightbb.com.

I've figured it out from a diagram -- with no written instructions.  However, the back tab/bracket that attaches to the fender/license plate area does NOT fit without some additional adapter or bracket.  The holes do not match up in the least.   :doh:

If anyone knows Sally's email, could you post it here or email her and ask her to check this post?  She recommended this rack from her experience with it's use and I'm sure she could clear this up pretty quickly.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

After drilling a few holes in the license plate and supplied bracket, I was able to rig it up to work.  Evidently, there is a different license plate bracket that the license plate attaches to on the 02' model compared to the 03' model.  Or, the schematic that was provided to SW MoTech for the 03' VFR was incorrect in regard to the license plate bracket.

I now have it installed and the side cases attached.  Let me just say WOW WOW WOW !!!  These are some HUGE 41cu side cases, but if you are looking for some useful storage space, these are the cases to get!

I'll post complete instructions in the appropriate area for installing the SW MoTech racks on the 02' - 03' VFR next week.

The primary reason I tried this specific luggage rack is because 99% of it can be removed with the twist of a straight-head screwdriver in 8 to 10 seconds per side.  And, it is true!  So, all that is left once the cases and racks are removed is a few pieces of black metal tabs -->  One under each grab rail and one on the back fender underneath the license plate.  One thing I don't think would work -- is if the fender was eliminated .... the MoTech rack relies on the fender to provide some (not a lot) of support.  But, I assume something could be rigged to work if the fender was eliminated.

So sorry I couldn't get back to you in a timely manner.  I've been out of town since July 27 and just got back yesterday.

Glad to see you got it sorted out!

I do have some additional pics that might help with installation, I'll look for your post in the how to section and add them if I think they would help.
