That is funny that my boss just showed this video a few minutes ago.
I wonder if it has the same hook up like this jacket in this video. In this case it might do not have enough time to inflate and help you out in the initial impact of the lowside.
I assume this is the Dainese design. There is another video of it on motogp.com in actual race use during a lowside. It opened much later than on first impact/contact with the track. I guess the tether is too long to react in time and if you made it shorter you wouldn't have enough "wiggle" room and could accidentally deploy during hard corner charging or wheelies, etc.
It's a step in the right direction but it still needs a lot of tweaking. I think it will be most beneficial in a violent highside or impact with a vehicle.
