- VFR charging issues only when hot Whatever you do, also consider relocating the RR to a cooler spot. I did some measurements and the frame by itself, where the RR is mounted, gets very hot because of the headers being very nearby. I' ve seen subframe…
- Garda Lake ride aug. 31st Ha, Terneuzen. Enjoy the Mosselen [image: mosselen-in-t-groen.jpg]
- Garda Lake ride aug. 31st Very cool.Hopefully she will soon feel confident again. Some great mountain passes not far from there. It has been a while since I last rode there. I remember it being very hot (36C) but the scenery was breathtaking…
- Returning after absence Skipper, 8/19/2025 at 9:47 PM What do people think of my tail box, the single item I am perhaps most proud of? That was the first thing that caught my eye after looking at the first picture. Very nifty and it looks…
- 2008 daily driver getting hard to start... sometimes Very sad to hear Grum has passed away. I always enjoyed his methodical way in helping others troubleshoot their (mostly) electrical troubles. He will be missed.
- Restoration RC36 1995 Ah, got it 👍 Looking at the other picture I thought the front edge on the lower fairing was also a bit tilted backwards. I am sure it is going to look nice.
- Restoration RC36 1995 Looks like the angle of the front of the black panel of the seatcover doesn' t match the angle of the black panel of the rear lower side fairing. I guess this is close to what you are aiming for? [image: spacer.png]
- 1986 Vfr Track Bike Out Of Parts The bike looks fantastic.
- Another VFR in the garage Looking good! Enjoy it.
- This did not end well. bmart, 1/9/2025 at 1:05 AM Flex them a little and see if they move like intended...or if they "dustify!" Squished them and they take their original shape again. Pretty good stuff made by Knox Armour with a hard outer…
- This did not end well. 20 hours ago, FromMaine Replacement elbow armour. Allegedly CE certified. https://www.hqts.com/differences-between-ce-conformite-europeenne-and-ce-china-export/ I just checked some 20 y.o. jackets I have lying around…
- Lifting front wheel without center stand With this Abba stand you will be able to not only lift both wheels of the ground but also remove the whole front end for instance when you need to replace head bearings. [image: abba.jpg]
- BMW K1600 GT thoughts... I only remove the radiator when performing a valve clearance check. It' s most #1 coil that fails because for some reason that one gets flooded sometimes.
- BMW K1600 GT thoughts... 7 hours ago, vfrpilot28 The BAD : - Maintenance was not fun. I had a coil pack failure. A simple fix requires draining the coolant, removal of radiator, and lots of tupperware. They get a big "F" on this section. Would…
- Got a RC24 again...... 1 hour ago, keny One more thing This brochure back in 1989 as I visited yearly local motorcycle fair got me hooked on the RC24 You need to get yourself a red leather motorcycle jacket and a pair of red riding boots 😁
- Right brake disc gets hotter than the left one It' s been a while since I had a VTEC, but isn' t this because of DCBS? When applying front brake only the right caliper has 3 active pistons and the left only two.
- Chain slack adjustment - side stand or main stand I agree with VFR78: remove the bearing holder and clean up the teeth. Also a great opportunity to repack the bearings with new grease.
- Fork oil level/air gap I would go with the air gap recommended by YSS. The length of the spring is of no influence on the oil displacement, wire thickness and number of coils per cm do. I have set the air gap on mine to 130mm to make the…
- My 1997 750 is back on the road Quite a transformation, it looks brand new. Excellent write-up too.
- Got a RC24 again...... keny, 9/21/2023 at 10:26 AM Can actually be it's a bike made to look like a US/Canada RWB bike, thro it has the right instrument as top triple as engine covers. A set of round clocks is on it's way to you.
- Variable length velocity stacks 11 hours ago, gropula The lever has rotational movement, while the actuator and the movable stacks have linear movement (yellow arrows). The stacks don't need to have linear movement, do they? Or can you otherwise not…
- Hey D, so what's been happening with you? Wow, that's quite an ordeal you went through. Best wishes on #3 👍
- The version 3 optimization build jefferson, 1/13/2023 at 3:39 PM Thinking about the fork lower with the stripped bolt last night and I think I may use a cheap allen wrench and JB weld it into the hole. That should take care of the issue. I often had…
- Fairing Trim Clips For those in Europe looking for trim clps: Würth is a good source. Bought a few boxes of different sizes years ago. At that time they were €8 for a box of 50.…
- Ignition switch needed It is not the key that is worn a bit? Have you tried the spare key?
- The Crieff Cloverleaf I hope to visit Scotland too for some riding and hiking, as from what I've seen the views are amazing.
- Rear wheel eccentric On the 800's you can´t gain ride height by flipping the excentric as the axle is already in the lower position. This only works on the 750s where you can gain about 3cm ride height.
- Featured Gallery Photo Regarding the gallery pic, I guess it depends on the screen you are using. The current gallery pic takes almost one page on my screen. There is a button in the bottom right corner that says "mark site read".
- Front left calliper 5th gen I guess you can't go wrong with this stuff: [image: sc.png] 🤓
- Naked VFR Project Coming together nicely 👍👌
- Buying a VFR1200 without the drive shaft recall completed bmart, 6/20/2022 at 11:57 PM I can't imagine a dealer turning down the work. They get paid by Honda, no? For parts: yes. Labour? maybe half.
- Security bolt install tool ? Looks to me you can use a regular allen key to install the one way bolts.
- 2022 VFRD Spring Memorial Ride 5/19-5/22 12 hours ago, Dutchy @V4 Rosso Is this your long lost twin brother? It's like looking in the mirror
- Help finding oil leak I agree with Mohawk.
- Chief Joseph Scenic Byway - 2011 It sure is scenic!
- Can't find what wattage the stator on a 3rd gen puts out. Page 100 of the user manual: 0,374kW/5000rpm
- New donation from V4 Rosso Hi V4 Rosso, Thank you for your donation of 25.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
- Return of the Michelin Man That was a good read 👌 And I fully agree: the PR2 is still one of the best sport/touring tires on the market.
- Canadian off-season Still one of the best looking 800Fi's I've ever seen.
- New Stator Dimensions ? There are two sizes: 107 mm and 115 mm. Your '03 needs the larger size stator.
- Headlight Voltage?? Help ?? I don't think the lens is different from Euro bikes and here the bulbs are standard H4. Some even use 100W GP Thunder H4's without any lens distortion.
- Random photo thread - anything goes - post what you've got [image: gallery_5310_6028_781034.jpg] 10 years ago, kenny (foreground), douglasthecook (background) and yours truly rode to Mugello to watch the MotoGP and the Dolomites. Good memories! Our first stop was in the…
- Honda's New ST - NT1100 15 hours ago, Skids Front end the same as the VFR800, except for the mud guard, ? The NT has an USD with more travel.
- Brake Caliper Mounts At a Funny Angle, Need Pics From Someone Else's Bike! 2 hours ago, Skids Are they that expensive over there? I was surprised too but checked local prices and yes, over €1000 a pair 😬 EBC is fine, so is TRW Lucas that are in the same price range: <$400 a pair.
- Chain loosening, slipping rear hub? 22 hours ago, courtuk My friend's VFR chain keeps becoming loose, literally after a few miles of riding. Third or fourth gen I reckon. Could be dirt that sits in the middle between the cassette and swingarm. The dirt…
- Is this fork leg bent? Maybe it's just me but I only get audio.
- Clutch lever not moving after sprockets and chain replacement 4 hours ago, RRluv2RIDE Also the pin into the slave cylinder seems to be out too far. Is that the lifter? Yes, so it may not be fully seated into the pressure plate.
- Random photo thread - anything goes - post what you've got [image: large.MooiRijtje1020558.JPG.7a666e7ea4ad] Taken last week during our yearly motorcycle trip to the land of twisties.
