Hello,

I am new to the whole VFR world, just having purchased a pristine low-mileage 98 VFR800 in Novemeber. I have gone round and round selecting what type of luggage I want for the bike. I liked the Ventura system becuase of the flexibility, but didn't like the issues of weather protection and security.

I ended up purchasing the SW Motech detachable mounts with Givi E21 bags. Total cost was approximately $430. The bracketry is top notch and the bags remove easily. The racks come off with 3 screws leaving the bike with only some small tabs visible. The bags themselves are nothing special other than they lock and are waterproof.

I like the fact that within a minute I can remove the bags and the racks leaving the bike looking stock without an erector set look when I am not using the bike for touring.

Welcome to VFRD!
Post some pictures to prove that you really have a VFR! :goofy:
Givi is a good choice of luggage.

I really do have a VFR  but after I installed the bags, it went back to it's winter home....the deep dark scary recesses of the garage. It's going to be 60 degrees today, so maybe I can get it out for a quick spin

For the record, the E21 Givis are not the highest quality bags, but they should work for what I need.

One bonus of the E21s.....they can serve as a cooler because they open at the top!
