I recently purchased a 1998 VFR 800 with 7K miles on the clock. It came w/ a high mounted Micron pipe.

I really like the bike and want to tour w/ it. Does anybody know of any soft bags that will work w/ a high mounted pipe?

I do not have the stock system, so changing to a low pipe will require a whole new system.

On a recent  week-long trip with 5 other VFR's, every single rider found that a tail bag and tank bag had plenty of capacity.  None of us were 2-up owever.

Joe Rocket Sport Saddlebags on a 2000 VFR with Two Brothers high exit full exhaust system (aluminum oval canister) work perfectly. They expand from 6" wide to 12" wide although they took me all the way to North Carolina from Florida without expanding them and they're getting ready to take me to California from Florida.

Check out RKA Luggage as well. I've got the 33 liter Super Sport Saddlebags in red. They look great with my '99 VFR with a high-mount TBR exhaust. I also have their 16 liter Super Sport Magnetic tank bag in red.

Thanks for the info.

They both look good. I will do some more research and let you know what I get.

Any general comments on either brand (longevity, construction, customer service, etc.)?

To mount the RKA bags with the high pipe, do you have to go over the cowling as on the website?

I have a Micron high mount.

Thanks.

I second paladin.  A rocketlocker tailbag and a nice expandable tak bag are all 99% will ever need.  More flexible storage system too.
