I used the bag for the First time on Sunday, on our trip to Steamboat Springs, I found the bottom bag to be very spacious. First off, there are only 2 bags not 3 as the name might suggest! They call it a tri bag since the smaller bag has an expandable zipp out.

Just using the bottom bag I was able to fit all the stuff I would pack in my old Spartan Bag and More! Just look at all the stuff!

There is a flexible front pocket too, with a main pocket, wallet keys, and a mesh pocket for a tool or somthing else, its attached at the top and swings out, under it is a grab handle

Here is a VERY handy feature, turn over the bottom bag and unzip the zipper underneith and 2 back pack straps pop out! I wish I had this tooling around Laguna Seca, esp climbing up that damn hill to the Corkscrew!

The top bag has several pockets on the lid, and a few places for pencils or a tire gauge!

Notes, The bag works great, the zippers are very easy to slide and are heavy duty, I found that the magnetic base tends to bunch up when I lean on it but is still stable.

The magnetic base also has a strap that has a quick release connector to attach to the frame if need be for high wind or added security

We rode thru the rain for 20 minutes the rain cover went on easy and no leakage, for 10 minutes I rode without it there was some wetness but not much.

I like the way you can adjust the bag while riding, the magnets will slide if grab them from under, if you cant see the insturment cluster or want to lean on it for a rest.

Very happy with the bag

I thought I was being rather conservative in my review, but when you pull the thing apart and look at all the features, really nothing on the market compares!  Maybe some compression straps on the top bag would be nice, and some snaps for the magnetic-base Zippers so that it does not unzip mid trip! Really I cant complain, its a quantum leap from my old bag!

And yes I like it, you should have seen me playing with yours when we stopped at that burger shop on the PCH! I just had to get one!

I've been using the TourMaster Cortech Tri-Bag for almost a year now, and I love mine. �I just returned from a trip to Germany/Austria where a friend of mine and I spent 8 days touring through Bavaria, the Black Forest and the Austrian Alps on rented BMW K75s (yuck! �but don't get me started...). �I brought my TourMaster tankbag, but unfortunately wasn't able to use it since the tanks on the BMWs are aluminum (surprise!). �I really missed having that with me for the trip... �I'd agree, nothing else I've seen compares to it!

Got my Cortech Tri Bag today fromNew England Motorcycle Emporium for $129.95 + shipping.  It arrived in 2 days - not bad! Can't wait until I get home and can play with it.

Beetle Bags:
Gerry, I don't think you'll find many fans of the Beetle Bags for the Vtec on this site.  When they came out, they got panned pretty badly on the sideways license plate and the odd dimples in the rear. Larry

Just dug this topic up when looking around for a tank bag now that I've got a Jastek Powermate kit.

Since this post, how does your TourMaster Cortech Tri-Bag hold up so far? �Satisfied? �Anybody else satisfied with their?
Do those rubber covered magnets leave marks on the paint?

I'm interested in hearing your opinions!

The tank mounted bags always looked pretty strange to me, like an old station wagon loaded up on the top rack, not cool �

Very true, if I could, I would go without them and keep the clean lines of my VTEC uncluttered. �Unfortunately, they do come in handy when making long trips, (e.g. over 100 miles) that their praticality do pay off in the long run. �On the other hand, you could always bring along a fat wallet!   tongue.gif

Therefore, to me, the tank bags are the least obtrustive luggage for bikes IMHO.

My tankbag was starting to come apart, the clear map window had torn off on both sides and had about a 3 inch break on one side and about half that on the other side.  Just ripped out where the stiches are.

I broke out he hot glue gun and put a bead down on the inside and pressed the window back into place then ran another bead on the outside.  Worked great for repairing a map window.

Hot glue bonds well with the window and the codura, I just used a cheap ten dollar glue gun.  I also replaced two zipper pulls that had lost thier tabs, its just a matter of breaking off the stopper at the end sliding the zipp pulls out, puttin in new ones and crimping on a new zipper stop.

I was getting annoyed with all the bugs on my shield, so I started carrying a cloth in my pocket, reaching into my bag for my spray bottle and washing them off slowly as I ride in the straits. �It was awkward and so I decided to put the spray bottle on a tether and Velcro it to the outside of my tank bag. �More hot glue work. �It has a nylon cord I hot glued to the bottle and then wrapped around the D ring. �Hot Glued a strip of Velcro to the outside of the bag to hold the bottle in place, its tethered to keep me from loosing it, filled with windex.
