A riding buddy of mine Dan called and said he needed to fix a tire, so he brought over his GSX1000 and we fixed the tire, he was surprised at how quick the job was, so he asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. �He works at the same place Craig does so we called up Craig and the three of us rode on up to Bishops Castle. Its a 200 mile ride that takes us past the state and federal prisons.

The road takes you into the San Isabel National Forest Reserve, and it gently winds up highway 96 and then makes a big right hand turn and then the fun starts.

The thing I love about the McKenzie Junction is that at the turn off the road goes from a �typical mountain road of poor condition to a wide, well maintained and aw some road for about 20 miles all the way to Bishops Castle. The road is one of the only roads that is generally clean and in good condition this time of year, just a few dirty corners that we all know about and so make the appropriate speed for.


We rode on up to the Castle and decided to turn around and do it again cause it was beginning to rain, but in turning around we avoided that all together, and did it all over again! Yea 90 mph sweepers everywhere.

We decided to take the road left at the Junction and headed into Westcliff, turned North and down the valley into Texas Creek.

The road to Texas Creek starts out flat and runs along some private ranches, then it turns to scrub oak and rock in a matter of 4 miles, and then gets a bit twisty.

:cool: Awesome ride. Looks great.  Fast corners and no traffic.  Love the snow too.

Yes it was nice to get out and wring the viffer out a bit.  Dan was behind us for the most part so you cant see him in the vid, I usually dont run the vids while I am leading except the part in the middle Craig waved me up front. But then he took over lead duty at the end.

For the most part we were staggered Craig right me left, and Dan behind me to the right. �Its a Digital Cannon S330 it sticks out about a foot from the center of the bike.

Nice vid Miguel! I made a T-creek/ Bishops run about two weeks ago. Hyde park was a bit spooky with the sand and gravel, but 50 was in great shape. The first 10 or so miles before the castle was also very clean...I love that section.

I could only watch so much and then my jealousy started to act up. We need to get a ridde organized soon. I have been commuting to and from work all week, except today gotta swing the clubs some to and they don't fit well on the bike. I read most of the Twist of the Wrist II (Thanks Miguel!) and I have been using some of it on the roads. I feel better but I can't wait to get out to some of the roads we ride to see if I have gotten any better at cornering. Good vid! Thanks again Miguel!

Yea Bishops is so sweet up untill the top of the big switchback and at the bottom turn at the bottom of the moutain before the Castle.  Craig and I were really haveing a blast, Dan is still getting used to his new Gixxer so he was taking it easy, it a lot of bike to handle! He just hasnt been able to get the touch yet for that throttle.

I dont know if I am riding this weekend, family is over, maybe sunday.  

But I want to pull off my exhaust and clean it up, pull off the shock too and clean that up grease the linkage bearings on the dogbone and such, clean the spring on my OHlins and oil it its got road grime all over it.  

I am going to repack my D&D if I can find matierial, it sounds all blown out after 2 years of abuse, my headers are leaking too somewhere, it needs new gaskets.  I am going to paint them with some 1200 degree black paint and scrub the rust off with a wire brush.

wasnt cold at all 70 degrees, just cloudy.
