Hello all,
Recently purchased a 1/2 tank protector from Targus and was looking at some tank bags. I was unsure though if I could use a magnetic tank bag with the protector or am I better off using one with a strap.
Has Anyone used the Joe Rocket Sport Tank Bag, any other recommendations for a good weekend bag, or to putz around town in... Thanks for the input!!!

I have the RKA magnetic bag with tether and it seems to work just fine.
It should work well with a tank protector.
I have the LP 1/2 Tank protector and the Oxford tank bag. No problems here.
i have a half tank protector, dont know the brand came with bike, and just bought an icon tank bag. i have used it a handful of times and works well.
the Oxford Sport tank bag rocks.
I use a Tour Master cortech magnetic tank bag & am very pleased with its performance and construction. biggrin.gif
Thanks guys with the quick responses, this has helped me out greatly!!!

BETAMAX,
The two rear bags on that picture, do you know if those are oxford tail bags?? I am also in the market for a pair of those!

The bags are the Revpack
Deluxe Saddlebags. They hold a lot, and they keep their shape whether they're full of gear or empty, so they are easy to pack and to open & grab stuff while on the road. Great design.
And they are WATERPROOF. I've tested them in all-day driving rain. I've even sprayed them with a pressure washer to clean the bugs off them after a long trip, and no water got inside. You don't need raincovers, and that's why Revpack doesn't sell raincovers for them.
These are the best soft bags you can buy, and at $160 US they're cheap for what you get. Another $10 buys a pair of foam pieces that velcro to the bags and protect your paint.
Betamax,
Thanks for the input, they look like great bags, what year is your bike, I have a 2003 with the pipes under the seat, do you see any problems with this style of bag and the possible obstruction of the pipes?
Thanks,
Chad
My bike is a 2000, but I've tried the bags on a 2003 just for looks and they fit fine.
They can be adjusted to sit higher or lower on the bike, and you can adjust them so they hang clear of the underseat pipes. No problem
