Hey Vifferati, prompted by yet another front-page featured photo, here are a few more, (flickr) plus some notes.
My kids flew here from 40c Toronto to enjoy our rain-soaked, cool, and excellent 28c weather. The clouds took a break so I had one single chance to give them a ride as my wife followed in a van with others taking pictures and video. Rain did finally end the fun an hour into the ride, but the damage was done, just check the grins!.
Sunday, felt like kissing that Continental jet for bringing them here, or at least, scotty-style blurting "unbelievably sir, the ship is in position!"
Monday, wake up at noon, join the family at the beach for an hour, run over to Mismaloya beach for a bit of diving from rocks, snorkel, and lunch grilled fish done on coals right at the beach, then drive to Chico's for a splash in the 15c river pools (more video!)
The rest of the days were a bit of the same, plus I got them in at PV's newest loud hangout "glam", excellent!.
Near the weekend we drove in huge storms and blinding fog to GDL, -as if we liked the city this much-, but we had a party to attend to.
Before this I took the bike and my son Gabriel for a ride south on Colima's road. (on the shot I'm pointing ahead, telling the wife to look out for an accident a bit ahead on the return lanes).
I hate these situations since everyone is approaching too fast, slam on the brakes to watch, then you slow down and the guy behind you could rear-end the ride. No such thing for me. Not today, not with this cargo.
So, that accident meant we weren't going to ride back on the same road, so I pointed my V4 toward the rarefied echelons of Ajijic and its Gringo-Canuck; retirement avenues an hour away. Very excellent!.
Rain caught us back on the road that connects Chapala to the airport and the returns to the city at its west point. So I stopped at an overpass to let my passenger off and continued on, filtering through 4 kms of backed up traffic in rain. gag.
So that's why you see us in jeans, don't hate, we were just going out for a short ride!
The next day on the drive back to PV we stopped at San Pancho's beach and its hippie shops and cafes, (saved me 2 hrs on trying to reach PV), -the waves were huge, I joined them in trying to survive 15ft swells but gave up. Hey you try to look this cool after partying riding and surfing in storm seas at 47.
