What a difference!

Well, I finally got my saddlebags back yesterday after being color matched and painted. It was definitely worth the money spent. They now look like OEM instead of aftermarket. biggrin.gif

The red saddlebags look good! What brand/model are they? I have a 2001 with a high mount Micron and I was wondering about getting some bags. Did you have to make any mods to clear the pipe?

Be very careful with those. �I've got those bags in flat black, and they have boot marks all over the place on the top from me getting on and off the bike. �They look good, though!

BTW, I don't use nor want a top box, so I just cut off the oval section of the pipe that goes up to the top box mount, right behind the passenger grips.  To me, it looks a lot cleaner when the bags are off.  I still need to block the pipe off, though.  I've got a little rust in there, now that it's been in the rain.  I'll probably just sand it off and stuff some bondo in there, then repaint just the bondo.

I have the Two Bros. C2 canister which has a narrow profile. When used with the tube racks, no mods were required with the exhaust. Relocation and some drilling was needed for the grabhandle slot metal shields. They're used cosmetically to hide the mounting bolts. My Corbin seat wouldn't mount and lock until they were relocated outward.

The cases are Givi E21s and are sold by the pair. I bought the unpainted, matte black version which were much cheaper. I thought about getting the larger E360s or E41s but the rear profile would have been too wide. The E21s have a much narrower profile.

Thanks. The color match was to Toyota's Supra Red II, with a slight variation on the color depth. You can't tell the difference from Honda's Italian Red, which was much more expensive to acquire. Yes, I will need to be aware of not making boot scuff marks on top of the cases.

Here's a rear and front pic as promised. As you can see, they're not wide as compared to the E360s and E41s.

I think that is a great looking setup!  Very nice.  Was it hard to find a shop to match the color and do such a great paint job?

Hey Avigar,, what did you use for the plug in the hole for the back rest? I like that carbon look seat finish. If I had known that my mom was sending me a Corbin for christmas, I would have asked for that finish.

Thanks. Nope, it wasn't hard to color match. I dealt with the same shop that repainted my Corbin Smuggler two years ago. They used the same paint code that was on their records.

It took a while, but I found it at Home Depot in the bolts and screws section. It's just a 1" diameter aluminum cap that's used to plug an unused water sprayer hole on a kitchen sink. I spray painted it black to match the seat. It fits perfectly into the seat. I have the matching backrest which I won't leave mounted when riding solo.

The red looks much better. Good job.  :cool:

As for the backrest, I thought it was a good idea since the wifey loves to go riding, however, when I put it on for our trip to Canada, she never found herself leaning back to use it. She says the weight on her arse hurts her tailbone so she likes to lean up against me and cop a feel. tongue.gif

I think they're as wide the Honda OEM bags. No offense taken, Lee. You're just jealous 'cause I now have lockable storage and you don't!  :p
