I figured you'd be pretty busy at work these days!

Fantastic weekend at Jennings! Weather turned out just perfect. Great on Saturday, Sunday started with some rain, but it gave us a couple of sessions with a wet track which I love and the rest of the day dry and sunny!

I'm dying to hear from Tharkun. He just happened to be pitted next to us, and his buddy was riding a new-to-him Aprilia RSV4... and Tharkun, of the great Honda V4 wealth of knowledge got to sample it...

For me, I enjoyed lots of great track time, burned up a crapload of tires and gas... need to work on my endurance a lot more, even though I can really start to feel the effects of my recent weight loss. So, another year or so, I can start getting down to the weight and lap times that I expect of myself.

For my friends. Mark D. got to explore a new track, and he seems to love it as much as me. He introduced a friend of his to track riding this weekend and he's hooked. My wife enjoyed her second track day and scrubbed the tires on the CBR600F3 to the edge... started out quite nervous, but really got into the swing of things...

There's already much talk of a spring trip to Jennings... Who's In???

Wish I new I would have gone.

On another note the guys over on CBR1100xx.org forum are renting out the track for a private day in march. Check out the racerxx thread. I will be going to that one.

The Aprilia was phenomenal!

The engine's power band was very familiar...so like the RC45's, and sooo much stronger. Torque from low at 4000 to 14K. It didn't rev it any higher than that...(not my bike, lol). Jennings was a 3 gear track on that bike. 1st for the pits & 2nd & 3rd for the track. You could easily loft the front wheel on acceleration out of any corner. Even at mid-speed down the straight, I goosed it and the front wheel lofted about 3 inches and stayed there till I rolled off the throttle for the braking point..." Holy Crap Batman..."

Bike was a little stiff in suspension for me, but was set up for a rider 50-60 lbs heavier. It turned quickly & solid and I felt confident I could have ridden it much harder, but again, not on my buddies brand new bike on the first day. So, I kept it reasonable (that and traffic was heavy and some of the riders were kind of unpredictable....typical I group when self-assigned....). The bike was extremely well mannered, and rode like my 600 with gobs more power. My buddy shredded the rear tire in one day!

Anybody want to buy a 2005 Goldwing farkled out with only 16K miles? I WANT AN APRILIA RSV4!!!!!!

You cannot imagine the sound. I went to the back straight to shoot some photos the last session & when the RSV4 went by under full throttle.....wooooo...sounded unbelievable! It was too cool & I wish I had brought my video camera to record it....maybe next time.

Some shots from Saturday (better track shots when Kendrick delivers with MotoHD).

We found WERA910 next to us Sat Morning when we pitted up.
