Tank bag velcro straps

What are the advantages and disadvantages to the velcro strap retention method for tank bags? NewEnough has what seems to be a good deal on some Held tank bags with velcro straps only.

Also, do any of you have the Performance Sport or Pegasus bags? I'm thinking about the Pegasus, so give me some pluses and minuses for these things if possible.
