Givi top case with Honda side bags

Can the givi top case rack be attached along with OEM side case mounts ?

Which do you think is a good size box for vfr 800, 46 52 or 55?

Thx Timmy, guess its matter of perspective. Was wondering if 55 would look too large for the vfr

And I never rode with top cases before, a big heavy one will affect handling ?

No you can't use OEM side bags with a Givi top case, I've already looked in to it.

This sucks as Givi makes the OEM boxes for Honda and Honda has discontinued the OEM boxes for 6th gens last spring. .

thx for the advice guys, i almost bought a givi topcase :(  i guess the only option to do topcase will be to get oem honda ones which is gonna cost an arm and a leg ..dang :(

I use a 46L top box with the OEM luggage. I can't find the name of the rack I use but it was about $120 from Germany.

Here is a picture of the rack in question. It mounts with the stock grab rails and does not interfere with stock side cases in any way.

Sorry for the lack of information. I usually keep all my paperwork but cannot find the links for where I ordered this one.

Ok, it is the "Five Stars Rack" and a quick 'google' found a UK site that still sells them, if anyone is interested.

Thx lex, will give it a try hopefully the bolt and nut they provide will be sufficient length for both the mounts

Sorry can't help you with the side cases query, I never got them. I only have the factory top box which is the same as one Givi model. I don't find it very noticeable when loaded and riding. You do have to be mindful of the extra weight when parking (especially if you need to push the bike out of where you're parked, so always park so you can ride away). Oh and watch out if you're on the centre stand as it is easier to rock the bike back onto the wheel if you're mucking about at the top box.

I've never liked the Doppler Radar look of these trunks, but guess they work well! :rolleyes:
