I have the OEM hard bags and am thinking of purchasing the matching top rack/topcase. �I'd sure like to hear from someone who has this setup as to how satisfied they are with it. �How hard is it to install the whole setup and to remove it. �I would not want to leave it on permanantly, and hope it is not too difficult/time consumptive to put it on and off now and then. �How comfortable is it for a passenger? �I'd have to talk my wife into what a good idea (for her) this addition would be.
I recently install the OEM topcase on my 03 and so far am very happy with it. �We took the bike on a 900km round trip last weekend and all reports are good. �We were able to carry two days worth of clothes. �She really likes the back rest and the hand holds seem better positioned than the original. �The case comes on and off the bike in about 30 seconds, very easily.
The installation was fairly simple. �You can remove the carrier with four bolts, which shouldn't take long, but I wouldn't recommend doing it often as this may damage threads. �The only strange thing is the top plate that the case locks on to slides back and forth on the width of the bike about 1/2". �I spoke with Honda and they say this is intentional, something about aerodynamics....... ??? �See my post "Help with OEM top case install....What the @#$@#?"
Overall, I am very happy with the setup. �The fit and finish are great, and it all looks good on the bike.
