Anyone Ever Have Trouble With Givi Top Case?

I bought an E52 to replace the one that launched itself onto I 680. Here's the thing: I took it out of the box, opened it, and for the life of me, I can't get the latch to close. The rim of the lid seems to seat completely, yet the latch... won't. This is my third Givi case, so I'm no novice.

Anyone ever have this happen? Obviously it can be closed, since it arrived in the box that way!

is the arm on the back side of the lock on tight?

Okey doke, removed the latch mechanism, screwed it back in and so far, all is well. Hopefully stays that way.
